We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Essential Duties:

  • Support all phases of new construction and renovation/upgrade for process systems including planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Prepare written project plans and presentations which may include budgets, schedules, coordination, and other pertinent project information.
  • Conduct technical project review and prepare written comments, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Contract with and oversee the activities of various contractors and consultants for the fulfillment of engineering responsibilities.
  • Prepare designs, layouts, drawings, and bills of material for major maintenance, facility improvements, and other projects.
  • Interpret applicable regulatory codes (EPA, OSHA, NFPA, etc) for compliance.
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook

  • Provide standard operating procedures and specifications governing the operation and maintenance of facility systems and equipment.
  • Evaluate equipment and system performance and identify improvement plans.
  • Troubleshoot system problems utilizing facility’s Scada and system HMIs.
  • Develop corrective action proposals and recommendations.
  • Assess the need for equipment replacement and expansion.
  • Approve outside contractors to carry out specific maintenance and repair assignments (e.g., work request approvals).
  • Generate necessary documents for new equipment (e.g., PM check lists, manuals, spare part inventories, etc.).
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff and others as required.
  • Audit existing systems for non-conformance.
  • Support development of installation packages for the hook-up, demolition or relocation of the process equipment as required.
  • Perform preliminary engineering assessments necessary to confirm plans and programs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies on system improvements and expansions.
  • Communicates and advises on scheduled maintenance risks and impacts on production schedule.
  • Coordinate facility projects with other project groups within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, statutes, and codes; securing all required permits; and coordinating with appropriate local authorities.
  • Act as systems owner of the site's process operations, improvement projects and expansions.
  • Tracks process systems performance and improves systems reliability.
  • Supports process system quarterly scheduled maintenance.
  • Supports the process engineering team during critical process equipment failures to minimize downtime.
  • Review design specifications, submittals, studies and drawings.
  • Manage, track and forecast materials and cost necessary to sustain process systems.
  • Help maintain the facilities document control system
  • Coordinates, schedules, oversees, supervises, and leads the facilities process engineering team.
  • Provide leadership, annual development planning and other applicable supervisory tasks.
  • Support building a robust process engineering team in the facilities engineering group.
  • Ensure projects and systems are compliant with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME.).
  • Influence supplier performance via management and audits of work performed in the field.
  • Develop relationships and communicate with engineers across disciplines and at other Panasonic sites to foster best practice sharing and communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement to access some areas and for some roles at PECNA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications:  Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Basic/Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or related engineering field.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Skills and experience necessary to satisfy the required “Essential Duties”.
  • 10+ years of experience in operation/engineering of mission critical facilities and infrastructure. Process monitoring, optimization, and improvement.
  • Excited in leading the people, managing process, equipment, material and utilities.
  • Participate in the development of project scopes, costs, and schedules for the annual capital improvement plan
  • Maintenance, design, and/or operation of electrical switchgear, transformers, VFD's, diesel generators, static/rotary UPS, and low voltage distribution equipment in a critical facility or high-tech manufacturing facility.
  • Strong technical leadership with excellent organizational and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite software including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability and proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize work, and deliver quality results.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and an outstanding ability to follow up with minimal direction by seeking answers and a focus on team success.
  • Able to make appropriate decisions when confronted with obstacles, think about them before acting, and consistently resolve issues in creative and effective ways.
  • A strong work ethic with a “get the job done” approach and consistently delivers excellent customer service, both internally and externally.

  • Participate in the development of project scopes, costs, and schedules for the annual capital improvement plan
  • Collaborating with Facility Engineers and BIM Designers by assigning tasks and supporting and monitoring compliance with project and operations parameters
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing multi-discipline projects.
  • Ideal candidates will have supported large facilities, preferably in advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Superb written and spoken communication, including executive-level presentations – but genuine above all. This role is a critical leadership role, with communications affecting a large organization
  • Demonstrated comfort in multi-national environments.
  • Able to respond quickly to potentially critical situations, perform rapid, accurate assessments, identify causes of failures, determine appropriate corrective actions, and implement these corrections promptly to mitigate the effects of system upsets.
  • Proficient with PC hardware and windows-based applications.
  • Resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure.
  • Ability and proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data
  • Flexibility, which is critical for a high-performance environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with energy conservation programs
