We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

The AGV Fleet Engineering Manager is responsible for the daily operation of Automated Systems and Electrical Equipment processes within facility. This position will engage with employees to assist and direct all automated and electrical work methods and procedures. You will lead and establish all automation design changes, process changes and implementations across the factory. The role is responsible for all automation process flow across the facility, VGVs, AGVs, RGVs and ASRS systems.

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct research and development work for automated transportation of raw materials
  • Follow engineering change standards to test and implement improvements to existing material movement methods
  • Influence and lead projects to explore, design, approve and install technology into processes for enhanced automated delivery and storage of raw materials.
  • Lead a team of design and transportation engineers at the facility who provide automation support to the operations team.
  • Work with other departments and cross-functional teams to reduce loss and improve quality.
  • Experience managing engineering projects and teams - coordinating distributed, complex cross-functional teams, establishing team processes, organizing priorities and goals, and leading meetings
  • Conduct design reviews for internal team feedback and for cross-functional presentations
  • Debug and optimize automated processes to reduce cycle times and maximize OEE
  • Adhere to all budgets, timelines and requirements set in place for designated tasks
  • Communicate technical issues and project timelines with building leadership, operations and the maintenance team
  • Control all automation movement across the facility

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications:  Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Basic/Required: B.S./M.S. In engineering, Industrial automation or robotics

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates experience identifying automation solutions, designing process layouts conceptual and detailed. Designing of automation solutions and installation.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills. Can manager several complex projects ad the same time with high degrees of variation
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solidworks, CATIA or equivalent
  • Experience managing engineering projects and teams - coordinating distributed, complex cross-functional teams, establishing team processes, organizing priorities and goals, and leading meetings
  • 5-7 years of experience in automation design, implementation and management preferred
  • Experience with automation equipment design and custom machine-building
  • Understanding of common machining processes and capabilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with AGVs, VGVs is preferred
  • Experience with ASRS is preferred
