We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Essential Duties: 

  • Manages several organizational segments or teams and be the key stake holder for large complex company programs.  

  • Oversees the preparation and final approval of project plans. 

  • Conducts or acquires cost analysis for development projects; prepares or delegates preparation of schedule of project completion dates. 

  • Ensures that projects are completed within budget and in an economical manner. 

  • Establishes and implements the strategic direction of the company’s engineering and development initiatives. 

  • Collaborates with the company executive leadership to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems. 

  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making. 

  • Ensures that departmental decisions such as staffing, development, organization, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision. 

  • Establishes, communicates, and implements engineering and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations. 

  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and development related to the organizations industry. 

  • Negotiates cost-effective contracts for the organization; coordinates and implements contractor’s work. 

  • Judgement to compromise between process requirements, economic evaluation, operator effectiveness, and physical and health and safety hazards. 

  • Conceptualize new equipment design, development, testing, installation, and implementation of cell manufacturing equipment. 

  • Design and develop continuous improvement initiatives in safety, environmental, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives.  

  • Iterate engineering design to meet technical and functional requirements and lead vendors through mechanical, electrical and software design reviews.  

  • Ensure manufacturing lines meet uptime, availability and reliability metrics – OEE, cycle time, quality. 

Drive high quality standards in everything we do such as process control systems, monitoring and managing key product metrics, consistency in documentation, and 5S initiatives. 

  • Engineering support for system upgrades, creating process plans, tracking budget costs, project schedules and developing countermeasures for timely completion of project goals.

Qualifications:  Requirements - Required and/or Preferred 

 

Education: 

  • Basic/Required:  bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline 

  • Preferred:  M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline 

 

Essential Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 8+ years of engineering experience in areas such as manufacturing, product development, design, or other area 

  • Evidence of exceptional ability. Panasonic follows a culture of full-cycle engineering where members will have full responsibility and accountability for their projects from start to finish.  

  • 5+ years of leadership experience 

  • Strong analytic and decision-making abilities. Able to influence others to move towards a common goal.  

  • Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize work, and deliver quality results. 

  • Demonstrate servant leadership to build a high-performing and overachieving team. 

  • Passionate about developing people and leaders and promoting career development. 

  • Be very technical and demonstrate the ability to show in-depth understanding of the company business, battery making process, and products  

  • Must be data-driven and result-driven.  

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong experience with electrochemistry and electrochemical analysis preferred. 

  • Previous experience with Industrial data analysis or Manufacturing Execution System (MES) 

  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (1M+ units per day) such as batteries or electronic devices 

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and tools 

  • Strong data analysis skills with tools such as JMP, Minitab, Python, or MATLAB are highly desired. 

  • Experience with battery production or R&D
