Team Panasonic Is Making A Positive Impact
What makes Panasonic a great company to work for? We’ve been passionate about giving back to our local communities for over 100 years.
Today and every day, our approach to work is centered around Panasonic founder, Konosuke Matsushita’s vision of “being a company with a giving heart”. Our team follows his philanthropic-focused business strategy and is dedicated to improving the world in which we live and work.
Whether it’s your first day as a Panasonic employee or you’re a tenured professional, members of our team from across the globe are making positive contributions to society through volunteerism. Throughout your career at Panasonic, we’ll help you identify and plan events to support the causes that mean the most to you.
"Our companies commitment to Contribution to Society and my colleagues endless dedication to giving back is what makes Panasonic North America employee volunteer programs successful and meaningful. Volunteering is part of our DNA and who we are as a company", shares Eleazar Gutierrez, Sr. Community Affairs Specialist.

Driving Our Contribution to Society Forward
Our Office of Social Impact and Inclusion helps drive positive change by facilitating employee volunteerism programs, corporate outreach initiatives and strategic philanthropic investments. This team works to strengthen our culture by building strong bonds among employees and our local communities.
From its creation in 1984, the Panasonic Foundation, an operating, non-profit, has been working to strengthen and diversify the tech talent pipeline by providing students in underserved communities access to science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) educational resources.
Making An Impact From Day 1
To welcome new hires to the Panasonic team, we host volunteer events regularly to bring our organization’s core mission to life. Whether we’re getting together in-person or hosting a virtual volunteer session, the newest members of our team are encouraged to give back from Day 1 and are invited to get involved with different charities and non-profit organizations. Most recently, we partnered with Project Helping, an organization dedicated to improving mental wellness, to build winter care packages for people experiencing homelessness.
Coming Together as One Panasonic
Each September, Panasonic’s Office of Social Impact and Inclusion hosts its annual Month of Service. What was planted as a concept in Newark, NJ, home of our North American headquarters, has now blossomed into a robust employee volunteer program serving communities across North America. Throughout the month, employees from all of our locations are encouraged to spend time giving back to their local communities. This year, we’ve seen an increase of over 40% in volunteer hours and 192% in employee participation using a hybrid approach of both remote and in person volunteer opportunities!
Celebrating Our Differences
As an organization, we are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace for all. Our five employee-led business impact groups (BIGs) work to create programs that resonate with our diverse employee population. This is done through regular meetings, educational opportunities and volunteer events focused on creating a more diverse community. Most recently, our PRISM BIG hosted a Pride Month volunteer event where participants created Kynd Kits for members of the LGBTQ+ community seeking mental health resources.
