A Culture of Giving Back

The holiday season is here, and the festive spirit is alive and well at Panasonic. December is a time for friends, family, and festivities. For Panasonic, December is a time for charity, giving, and goodwill to our communities in need. At Panasonic North America, we believe that giving back to our communities is an important part of being a responsible and socially-conscious company. That's why we are proud to announce our charitable giving programs for the holiday season.

Panasonic has a rich history of giving back to our communities over the past 100 years and nurtures a spirit of giving through our 7 Principles. This December, two of our Principles – Gratitude and Contribution to Society take center stage.

Panasonic employees across the globe have come together to support the causes that mean the most to them, in concomitance with our Office of Social Impact and Inclusion.  Check out just a few of the ways we’re giving back below.

Giving Back to those in Need
This year, Panasonic Automotive partnered with three local charities for giving back. 

In Peachtree City (GA), we have partnered with the Real Life Center for their Angel’s Tree initiative to give 250 local children in need presents for the holidays. Real Life Center assists those in need in Fayette and Coweta counties with shelter and holistic care.

In Farmington Hills (MI), Panasonic employees came together to donate toys, clothes, and essentials to Haven of Oakland County, an organization that helps victims of domestic violence and assault, along with their families, escape abuse and create safer lives. 
“When I arrived at Haven, they have to use a buzzer to let you into the building. When they buzzed me in, they asked where I was from. I said Panasonic, and she yelled, ‘Panasonic is here! Panasonic is here we need some helpers!’ It really made my day, my week, my year!” shared Pamela Fischer, Panasonic Automotive.

In Los Indios (TX), Panasonic partnered with the local police department to distribute toys to children in need in the Los Indios community. 

The Panasonic Energy team in Sparks, Nevada came together to give toys to children this holiday season in partnership with Marine Toys for Tots. 

“There is so much need in our community and PENA Cares has given me an outlet to help others," said Kaitlin Walsh, Panasonic Energy. "It feels great to be a part of something bigger than myself. I hope to make this holiday season a little brighter for local children in need by donating and being a part of our annual Toy Drive.” 

Team members at Panasonic Canada came together to donate toys in support of the Native Child and Family Services of Toronto. We are delighted to support this essential service that strives to provide a life of quality, well-being, caring, and healing for children and families in the Toronto Native Community.

Across Panasonic North America and Panasonic Avionics, employees had the opportunity to donate through online giving platform YouGiveGoods to help provide meals for families in need through Feeding America and to provide toys for children through Marine Toys for Tots.

Giving Back Year Round
Giving back to our communities at Panasonic doesn’t start on December 1st and end on January 1st. Instead, we work throughout the year across our region to make a difference in our communities. 

For Panasonic, a few highlights include sponsorship fundraisers for charities such as the Veterans Guest House, volunteer days with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, and Earth Day volunteering in local communities across North America. 

Additionally, this September was Panasonic’s “Month of Service”, where Panasonic employees joined virtual and in-person events, across six different locations for a total of 364 volunteer hours for several charitable causes, including Habitat for Humanity and One Tree Planted.

Wrapping Up for the Holidays
At Panasonic North America, we are committed to making a positive impact in our communities, and we are grateful for the opportunity to give back during the holiday season.
