SAP Functional Analyst/FICO

Job Description

Overview

Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of SAP Functional Analyst/FICO.

 

Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, documents, and implements technology solutions to support Panasonic's IT strategy and business objectives and provides cost benefits.  Leads, and manages the development of new applications and in support of existing systems.  Manages projects of medium to large size including development and management of project plans, scope, budget, resources assigned to the project as well as various communications with project team, steering committee, and stakeholders. 

 

Ensures projects meet the defined requirements including monitoring of all issues and resolutions.  Coordinates the analysis and design of automated solutions to business problems or application software which directly affects the availability, functionality and reliability of products and systems to end users. 

 

Collaborates with Process owners, subject matter experts and other business users in order to fully understand departmental/corporate objectives, to gather business and functional requirements as they relate to new development projects or system enhancements and to recommend and/or implement process changes to help achieve their goals.  

 

This is a full-time position.

 

This position is hybrid. Any office-based work will be performed from our Mississauga office at Ambler Drive.

 


Responsibilities

  • Process Design and Application Architecture - Performs routine to complex analysis and design for various business applications and business critical functions. Gathers, analyzes, and prioritizes user requirements.  Develops graphical user interface design using data models, functional flow diagrams and other documentation as part of the business and system analysis and design as defined by departmental standards and methodologies. Drives concepts and requirements into a design that meets a defined business need. Performs cost benefit analysis and identifies areas of risk.

Creates functional and technical specifications based on defined business rules.  Facilitates walkthroughs to confirm business requirements and functional specifications. Works collaboratively with other information technology departments to determine an optimal system design. Prepares status reports as required, verifies design specifications, or project objectives, and makes course corrections as required.  Maintains current knowledge of PCI's business applications both within functional and technical areas.   Research technological advances and resources to provide appropriate recommendations.

  • Project Management - Prepares project plan, identifies impact of scope changes, areas of risk and prepares and presents project planning efforts on a medium to large size projects. Prioritizes, assigns, and re-assigns work to staff assigned to the project.  Resolves conflicts to advance the project. Participates in the performance evaluation of project team members upon project closure.

Prepares and presents project deliverables to the appropriate management for project review throughout the development life cycle. Prepares appropriate feasibility studies and recommendations. Tracks activities, prioritizes task, and escalates and addresses issues to resolution. Ensures successful project implementation within budget and time constraints. Negotiates with stakeholders to obtain agreement regarding requirements. Ensures IT controls are met within the given project including requirements defined for SOX.

  • Software Testing and Documentation - Creates and executes applicable unit and system integration testing. Creates test scripts to automate testing where possible.  Performs tests in accordance with the test plans created by the testing lead.  Verifies and ensures that tests meet the functional and business requirements.  Develops usage scenarios and use cases. 

Highlights and identifies process and system changes to expert users to facilitate acceptance testing.  Develops user documentation for on-going support. Creates and develops training documentation within a given project.  Develops and delivers user training as required.  Assesses training needs and adapts materials to audience.  Collects and analyzes participant feedback to determine training success, and to improve training content and delivery.  Provides feedback to all parties.

  • Problem Management - Responds in a timely and effective manner to resolve business application problems/incidents.  Analyzes problems, identifies root cause, and prepares appropriate solutions.  Develops workarounds, prepares work process/application documentation and coordinates with other IT staff to implement effective resolution.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or another related field. Minimum 10 years of information technology/business process analysis experience with SAP Financial business application experience. Demonstrated project management skills required.
  • Must be proficient in the functional areas of SAP applications in Finance areas preferably in SAP S/4 HANA.  Proficient in business process analysis, functional knowledge and configuration experience required in FICO SAP application area. SAP Certification for FICO is required.  Certified PMP is an asset. Must be proficient in managing and leading SAP projects.  Proficiency required in Word, Excel, MS Project and VISIO.
  • Requires the incumbent to devise unique and complex solutions creating alternatives and options to meet business needs and make recommendations for approvals.  Scopes business requirements, defines problem, interprets technological opportunities and implements recommendations within approval guidelines. Diagnosis of a variety of sophisticated IT and business process problems requires a deep understanding of business and IT processes and technical knowledge to determine appropriate recommendations/solutions. Applies project management and development methods as defined within the department.
  • Establishes and maintains rapport with industry, and SAP experts. Uses well developed listening and consulting skills to ensure clarity of business requirements and solution opportunities. 
  • Ability to negotiate deliverables to business process owners to meet business objectives and gain commitment to project are critical to position. Communicates technical and non-technical information to technical and non-technical audiences. Communicates unfavorable project results, deliverables, or project delays. Persuades others to maintain project schedules.  Communicates directives, schedules, status, and feedback to all parties.

NICE TO HAVE: 

 

  • Financial S/4 HANA experience is preferred.
