What You’ll Get to Do:
Supports Community Affairs Manager in implementation of strategic initiatives and development of community partnerships.
- Support the Community Affairs Manager to develop and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including local government officials, community organizations, non profits, and residents.
- Independently manage community outreach initiatives, events, and programs to increase awareness of our organizations mission, goals, and services.
- Serve as a liaison between our organization and the community, responding to inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify community needs, develop strategies to address them effectively, and implement engagement strategies.
- Support the planning and execution of community based projects, partnerships, and sponsorships that align with our organization's values and objectives, including by independently leading event planning and logistics.
Supports Community Affairs Manager in public engagements and assessing impact.
- Assist in the development of communication materials, including press releases, social media posts, newsletters, and website content, to promote our community engagement efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of community affairs initiatives, collecting feedback and data to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay informed about local issues, trends, and developments that may impact our organizations relationship with the community.
- Represent our organization at community events, meetings, and forums to build relationships and advocate for our interests.
Supports Community Affairs Manager in maintenance of records and reporting requirements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to community affairs activities, budgets, and partnerships.
- Track and report state lobbying activities, as needed.
Scope:
- Must be team oriented and able to work collaboratively with DC based government affairs team and remote communications team.
- Reports to Community Affairs Manager.
Education and Experience: Degree required and or preferred
- Bachelors degree required. Preferred degree in communications, public relations, community development, or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in community relations, public affairs, or a similar role, preferably in a large corporate setting.
Problem Solving: Complexity of problems
- Ability to prioritize internal and external requests and engagements.
- Align Panasonic Energys priorities to local community needs.
Communications: Key communications contacts internal and or external and level of persuasion required
- Engage state and local elected officials and stakeholders.
- Build internal support for community affairs engagements.
- Manage a range of communications with internal and external stakeholders, including in Japan, Newark, NJ, Washington, DC, Reno, NV, and across Kansas and Missouri.
Other Requirements: e.g. Working conditions, physical requirements, travel, etc.
- Ability to take day trips to local events.
- Some overnight travel (5 percent).
- Ability to represent Panasonic Energy at evening or weekend community activities and events.

The salary range of $61,000- $81,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
