Building a Brighter Future:
Our Volunteer Day with Habitat for Humanity

Contribution to society – it’s a core principle that guides Life at Panasonic. During the 6th Annual Panasonic Cares Month of Service, our team united with Habitat for Humanity Greater Newark to help renovate a home for a local family in need.

Volunteering with Habitat is more than construction; it’s about building a sense of community and committing to making a deeper impact. Kriti Solaimalai, an Info Systems & SCM Analyst for Panasonic Eco Solutions of North America (PESNA), shared, "Volunteering is one of the most grounding exercises in my life. I’m motivated by the impact we're creating for certain sections of the community."

Throughout the day, our team rolled up their sleeves and bonded over the hard work of painting the kitchen, tiling the bathroom and diligent yardwork. During it all, the spirit of giving back energized us.  By the end of the day, we weren’t just proud of the improvements we made to the home but the relationships we built with each other.

Our collaboration with Habitat for Humanity truly highlights the power of working together for the greater good. Carlton Daniels, Board President of Greater Newark Habitat for Humanity, expressed this sentiment when he said, “Habitat could not do what it does without partners like Panasonic that offers employees the opportunity to participate in community service and become inspired to do more of this work. I hope they will learn the impact of helping someone who has been down on their luck. That coming together and helping helps the community.”

Carlton's words are a reminder that the ripple effect of our volunteer efforts extends beyond the physical work we do.

"Our goal is to be a helping hand to our neighbors and to build connections with each other. I truly believe that my sense of fulfillment is because we are all called to do something good. We connect with our communities, do something good for someone who we don't know and who will probably never know us, but that's our purpose—to just do good," emphasized Jason Nieh, Senior Specialist for Community Engagement and Grant Operations.

With a commitment to furthering our partnership with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, we are eager to continue contributing to a brighter future for our communities.
