From Household Name to Career Game:

Vidhi’s Panasonic Journey

vidhi updated

When Vidhi Shethia joined Panasonic as a process engineering intern in June 2022, she wasn’t just stepping into another corporate role, she was returning to a brand that had been part of her life since childhood.

“Growing up in India, Panasonic was a household name. Our family TV was Panasonic, and the brand was present in nearly every home I knew,” she shared. “When the opportunity presented itself to be an intern here, it felt personal and exciting.”

That excitement quickly grew into something even more meaningful. From her very first days at Panasonic, Vidhi noticed something special: a culture that invited her to share ideas, learn freely and grow without limits.

“The atmosphere was open, collaborative and incredibly supportive,” shared Vidhi. “Even as an intern, I felt like my ideas were heard and my contributions were valued.”

Her internship became the launching pad for a full-time career, not because it was easy, but because it was real. Real learning. Real responsibility. Real support.

When Vidhi transitioned into a full-time role, she pivoted from process engineering to a position in procurement within the Center of Excellence — an exciting move, but not without its challenges.

“The biggest challenge was stepping into a more strategic role where the expectations were higher, and the learning never stopped. But having supportive mentors and a team willing to guide me through that transition made all the difference,” Vidhi explained.

Now thriving in her full-time position as Senior Supply Chain Specialist, Vidhi collaborates across teams and departments, drawing on both her technical background and growing business insight.

“Panasonic’s culture is one of the most empowering aspects of working here,” she said. “From day one, I’ve felt encouraged to ask questions, explore different paths and stretch beyond my comfort zone.”

Be bold

Be curious

Be open to the unexpected

So, what’s her advice for current interns hoping to follow a similar path? Be bold, be curious, and be open to the unexpected.

“Stay inquisitive and don’t be afraid to ask questions, volunteer for new challenges and build relationships across teams,” Vidhi advised. “Be open to pivots too -- my own journey from process engineering to procurement wasn’t planned, but it turned out to be the best move for my career.”

Whether she’s solving complex problems, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders or offering a helping hand to the next wave of interns, Vidhi’s story is proof that with the right mindset and support system, an internship can be the first step in a career you’re genuinely excited to build.
