Employee Volunteerism and the Spirit of Martin Luther King Jr.

Rooted in Panasonic’s Seven Business Principles, employee volunteerism embodies our commitment to making a positive impact on the communities we serve. In the spirit of service and equality championed by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we aim to honor his vision of building a more just and compassionate world.

The heart of our efforts lies in the principle of Contribution to Society. By dedicating time and energy to volunteerism, employees go beyond their roles to create meaningful change. From environmental cleanups and food banks, to STEM education programs, we aim to uplift the communities that support us, echoing Dr. King’s belief that everyone can be great because everyone can serve.

"Volunteering with Panasonic makes me feel like an integral part of the community, helping to keep things moving forward. I’ve been with the company for two years, and I’m grateful for the opportunities we have to give back." Roshanna Bobb, Marketing Specialist, Panasonic Connect.

Working transparently with community partners to ensure our efforts address real needs conveys our principle of Fairness and Honesty. “Here at Panasonic, we’re intentional about partnering with well-established organizations in our local communities to meet the needs of our neighbors. Recently at the largest food bank in NJ, 50+ Panasonic employees rallied to help pack pasta kits and sort through food donations to ensure that families receive the support they need. We’re honored to be a part of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey’s journey to build communities free from hunger and live out our Panasonic value of Contributing to Society,” shares Jason Nieh, Sr. Specialist of Community Engagement & Operations.

Equally important is the principle of Cooperation and Team Spirit, which aligns with Dr. King’s call for unity and collective action. Employees across departments and business units join forces to create a greater collective impact on the communities across the country where we operate.

Our dedication to upholding our principle of Untiring Effort for Improvement drives us to learn from each volunteer experience and find ways to amplify our impact. Each project is an opportunity to reflect, adapt and refine how we engage with the communities around us and to embody Dr. King’s legacy of relentless pursuit of progress.

“Panasonic provides us with both the time and the opportunity to give back, and I’m truly grateful for that. In addition to recently volunteering with the team at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, I also volunteer on my own at CFBNJ. It’s fulfilling to be involved there because it allows me to make a real, tangible difference.” Jamie Davis, Tech Support Specialist, Panasonic Connect

Volunteerism also offers a unique chance to practice Courtesy and Humility, reminding us to approach others’ challenges with empathy and respect. It also reinforces Adaptability, as our teams navigate diverse needs and environments with compassion. Dr. King’s life serves as a powerful reminder to approach service with gratitude and a deep sense of purpose.

Our principle of Gratitude inspires us not only to give back but to embrace the fulfillment that comes from helping others. Recognizing the opportunities and community support we receive, Panasonic strives to pay it forward and build stronger, more connected communities for everyone.

At Panasonic, our employees turn compassion into action. By fostering a workplace that values service as much as innovation, and in the spirit of Dr. King, we too, dream of creating a brighter, more equitable future for all.
