Class to Craft: How Jenny Ha is Turning Coursework into Career Success
For many students, the question is not if what you learn in class will matter in the real world, but how. How do theories, case studies and group projects translate once you step into a corporate environment? At Panasonic, interns are encouraged to make that connection every day.
One intern doing exactly that is Jenny Ha, Social Impact Intern at Panasonic North America. Through her work supporting communications initiatives tied to the Panasonic Foundation and the Office of Social Impact & Inclusion, Ha is actively applying classroom lessons to real business challenges and seeing the impact firsthand.
When Classwork Clicks in the Real World
“During one of my classes, I had to analyze a communications strategy for a non-profit case study. When I supported the development of talking points for the Panasonic Foundation’s executive leadership, I applied what I learned and focused on how the message would resonate with different stakeholders.” Ha noted that this approach helped her focus not only on increasing engagement but on being intentional.
A Broader Perspective at the Table
Ha’s academic experience gives her a unique voice on her team. “My specialization in social responsibility and social impact investment gives me a dual lens that's been valuable,” she explained. Seeing the work through both a business and communications lens helps Ha approach impact more holistically, leading to “more thoughtful conversations around impact, employee engagement and how the Panasonic Foundation prioritizes resources.”
