Celebrating Community: The Heart of Panasonic’s Great Place To Work Certification

October 16 marks Great Place To Work’s Certification Nation Day. To celebrate, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what makes Panasonic such a special place to work. Great Place To Work is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience and leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation. In 2024, Panasonic North America was named a Great Place To Work for a third-consecutive year.  From our team’s experiences and stories, it's clear Panasonic’s culture is built on more than business success—it's about people, collaboration, and making an impact. We caught up with Stephen Scowcroft, Senior Marketing Specialist at Panasonic Connect, to hear his thoughts on Life at Panasonic and what makes it truly a great place to work. Here's what Stephen had to say.

Q: In your opinion, what makes Panasonic unique?
Stephen: Panasonic is unique because, even though we are a company with over 100 years of history, there's a strong focus on innovation. With all the different business units that make up Panasonic, there's always an opportunity to make an impact in today’s world. The diversity of our business lines means there's room to contribute in exciting ways that influence a range of industries.

Q: Why are you proud to work at Panasonic?
Stephen: I’m proud to work at Panasonic because it goes beyond the products that we sell. Our employees bring a wealth of experience to the table, ensuring we put customers first and deliver the best service possible. It’s about making a real difference in our customers' lives and being a trusted partner.

Q: When people ask you what life is like at Panasonic, what do you tell them?
Stephen: Life at Panasonic is amazing. There’s a strong focus on delivering meaningful work while also fostering a healthy work-life balance. Life doesn’t stop, and it’s validating to work for a company that respects that. The relationships we build in and outside of the office are genuine, and that makes a world of difference.

Q:  Which of the seven basic business principles resonates with you the most?
Stephen: Of the seven basic business principles, I’d say “Cooperation and Team Spirit” resonates with me the most. Everyone I engage with daily embodies this principle, which not only makes work enjoyable and efficient, but also fosters a great working environment. It's incredible to see how much we can achieve when we work together.

Q: Can you share a memorable story from work?
Stephen: Besides seeing TOUGHBOOK computers featured in big blockbuster movies, a neat story that stands out is from our recent team meeting in New Orleans. We weren't there on a Sunday to see a Second Line, but to kick off the conference, our team had a Second Line come to us. It was an energizing way to start the meeting, and it really captured the rich culture of New Orleans. It’s moments like these that make our work experience truly memorable.
