With a supportive team and countless opportunities to showcase her creativity, Haley shares how she’s gained confidence, sharpened her skills and discovered her passion for communications and marketing. Let’s get into it!

Q: What attracted you to this internship?

When I first began my internship search, I wanted a flexible opportunity that would allow me to work and learn while still having time for classes and extracurriculars. This internship has given me exactly that. My team is amazing at accommodating my schedule while still involving me in major projects that help me learn and collaborate.

Q: What is a typical day for you working at Panasonic?

A typical day as a Communications & Content Management Intern at Panasonic is hands-on and full of opportunities to make a real impact. From the moment I start my day, I’m actively engaged -- checking emails, working through requests, and preparing for meetings that help shape our content. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is contributing to content creation, whether it’s writing blog posts, updating internal sites or crafting posts for Viva Engage. I also get to be part of brainstorming sessions, collaborating with my team to come up with fresh ideas. I wrap up my workday by connecting with my boss to go over what’s been completed, what’s pending, and if she needs anything from me. I usually clock out around 5 or 5:30 PM then go for a walk or hang out with friends to relax.  I find this crucial for shifting my focus from work to school life. After taking a break, I grab dinner and work on homework before winding down for the night.

Q: How has interning remotely allowed you to pursue your degree and balance internship responsibilities?

This internship has been amazing for my personal and professional growth. I love that it offers flexibility while also providing a structured schedule that helps me develop my time management skills. Through this experience, I have gained valuable skills such as collaboration and work-life balance, which will benefit me in both my future career and personal life.

Q: How would you describe your work style and how do you stay efficient as a remote intern?

I would describe my work style as organized. I love making lists and like to plan, prioritize and manage my time effectively to meet deadlines and produce quality work. As a remote intern, I start my day by reviewing my calendar to note any meetings and content I need to prepare. Then, I go through my emails to create a list of tasks and projects to complete. This helps me prioritize my work while providing a clear outline of my day.

Q: How has this internship influenced your perspective on your future career path or field of study?

This internship has given me great clarity about my future career. I hope to continue growing with Panasonic because I love the company culture -- it feels like a family. My team is incredible, and I truly appreciate how much they prioritize learning and growth. When I first started at Panasonic, I worked as an IT marketing intern. Through hard work and networking, I transitioned to the communications and marketing team, which reinforced why I want to stay at Panasonic. My new team was just as welcoming, and my former IT colleagues still reach out to me regularly. The transition was seamless, and I’m incredibly grateful to be part of a company that truly feels like family. For my future career, I hope to find a workplace with the same supportive culture and fun, collaborative team. My team makes working together enjoyable and inviting; they are always open to new ideas, and I feel confident sharing my input on projects, which has been a huge milestone for me. This experience has also reinforced my passion for the communications and marketing field and confirmed it’s the career path I want to pursue.

Q: How do you stay inspired when faced with challenges?

Luckily, I have an amazing group of people around me, including my communications team—Jerry, Leah, Liz, and Nicole—as well as Veronica Caetano, my boss from my previous IT internship with Panasonic. All these role models are always willing to help and collaborate when I face challenges. I truly believe that any challenge is easier to overcome when you have an inspiring team by your side.

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received so far in your career?

Veronica has always given me great advice. She constantly reminds me to be confident in my work, to work hard, but also to maintain a healthy work-life balance so I can continue performing at my best. This has been an important reminder for me because when you love what you do and are passionate about it, it can be hard to step away. However, both the culture at Panasonic and my boss, Leah Savarese, emphasize the importance of taking breaks and switching between tasks to stay productive and avoid burnout.

Q: What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on so far and why?

My favorite project so far has been the intranet migration project. It’s an all-hands-on-deck collaboration where I get to meet with my team and work through the project together. I also love meeting other departments and working with new teams. While the process has been long and involved, it’s been fun working through the best approach to transition the site and ensuring the aesthetic remains consistent. I’ve also appreciated the opportunity to be creative and independently manage the web pages I’m updating. This has built my confidence in my work, and it has been such a great experience.

Haley's advice to future interns? "Be confident! This was difficult for me at first because I felt like others on calls were more experienced than I was, but I’ve learned that my perspectives and work truly matter. Over time, I’ve realized everyone brings something valuable to the table and different perspectives are important. We all come from unique backgrounds, cultures and experiences, and these differences create unity and a broader understanding that strengthens our projects."
