Read, interpret and follow engineering drawings, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
Utilize handheld and power tools such as a air gun
Perform visual work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products to comply with requirements
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Performs any combination of following assembly line tasks to assemble structural parts, such as metal panels, doors, glass, and channels, using hand tools and portable power tools: Assembles frame components, such as tops, bottoms, sides, panels, and bumpers.
Smooths edges of components to obtain specified fit, using grinder or file.
Drills holes for fastening, using power drill.
Aligns holes and rivets, screws or bolts frame components together
Positions hardware to case, using screwdriver, nut runner, and hand riveter.
Applies silicone and adhesive
Inspects work piece to detect cosmetic defects/ damage
Positions work piece in jig to assemble and align parts
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Listen to directions from supervisors.
Determine if all parts are present
Be organized and reliable
High School Diploma or GED preferred and 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Must join a union
