The Position:  

Lead programs from First Article Inspections (FAI) at Supplier to final Customer FAI. This includes tracking rejections to ensure program is completed and interfacing and supporting QC activities. This also includes documenting and following up on customer FAI reports. Reviews programs to ensure future programs are improving from previous “lessons learned.” Reviews and improves QA Work Instructions (WIs) and Quality Operation Procedures (QOPs). Documents quality planning for Panasonic product inspection and supplier's product inspection as required. Reviews purchase orders to flow down contractual requirements to suppliers. Reviews manufacturing planning for adequate sequences and inspection points. Supports and performs Material Review Board (MRB) and Change Review Board (CRB) activities. May work with Supplier Management group (e.g. quality requirements flow down; supplier assessment; supplier performance monitoring, improvement and/or corrective action, etc.) and assist with other QA function when necessary.

  • Leads programs, including program introductions, to ensure completeness of required Quality activities.
  • Supports First Article Inspections (FAI) at suppliers and supports internal customer FAI when required.
  • Improves and/or implements quality operation procedures, work instructions, and quality planning.
  • Evaluates and does investigations on nonconforming products for cause and corrective action.
  • Develops quality planning and applies new methods of inspection for continuous improvement.
  • Interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, engineering process specifications and test data.
  • Performs liaison activity and provides technical support to the quality control personal.
  • Performs root cause analyses to support the application of closed loop corrective action.
  • Reviews purchase orders for applicable requirements per Supplier Quality Assurance Requirements. Reviews manufacturing planning sheet for adequate sequences and inspection points.
  • Supports and performs Change Review Board (CRB) activities to review drawings prior to release.
  • Supports the Material Review Board (MRB) to review and investigate non-conforming products.
  • Generate reports to analyze data and develop corrective actions plans when required.
  • Supports supplier management (performs inspection, reviews quality system, supplier surveillance, and continuous improvement techniques) and assist with other QA function when necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

  • BS, BSEE or related engineering degree. Equivalent Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • 8 - 12 years of experience
  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
  • May provide guidance to other technical positions.
  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
  • Works on problems of diverse to complex scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of variable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds, when needed.
  • Computer Typing, 50% sitting, 25% walking, 25% standing.
  • Depending on assignment, some travel may be required.
