We’re looking for a motivated, driven, and collaborative full stack software engineer to join our Tools Team. The Tools Team is responsible for developing both back-end and front-end software for complex applications using Agile/Scrum methodologies.This position will primarily provide back-end software development for our product database configuration tool. This configuration tool is an application that enables our engineering teams to configure and deliver In-Flight Entertainment System (IFES) features to our airline customers. The primary development tasks will include refactoring and porting existing PHP into a new GraphQL backend and integrating with a React frontend. Further, this new application will be hosted in AWS using managed services.The salary range of $90,000 - $151,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.What you will be doing:
  • Maintain and expand functionality of the existing application through solid knowledge of software lifecycles using Agile methodologies.
  • Design new and efficient GraphQL modules while seamlessly integrating with React front-end technologies.
  • Create and maintain thorough test coverage to ensure continuous integration & deployment.
  • Enhance, optimize, and improve efficiency and robustness of the existing software framework.
  • Document designs in engineering documents including functional block diagrams, data/logic flow charts, and UML.
What we are looking for:Required
  • In-depth knowledge of GraphQL, SQL query optimization and data modeling.
  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies including ReactJS, Typescript, HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3.
  • Experience with and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with shell scripting on Linux.
  • Experience with CI/CD and automated testing frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, context switches and make efficient use of shared resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with user-centered, iterative design and development process.
  • Demonstrated engineering communication expertise including clear and concise written and verbal skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Agile software development methodology and in practicing Scrum
  • Ability to understand existing PHP codebase.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.

Desired

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related fields. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 - 10 years of software development experience.
  • Experience working with Static Code Analysis tools.
  • Experience working with testing frameworks and tools like Jest, PHP Unit/Pest, Selenium.
  • Experience in AWS technologies, including developing and deploying GraphQL, TypeScript and React applications in AWS.
  • Able to understand basic hardware and wiring diagrams and schematics.
