Team Panasonic’s Nathan Chen Joins Panasonic Team Members to Celebrate Culture, Togetherness, and More
Coming off a legendary Winter Games effort that netted him a gold medal in the men’s figure skating short program, Team Panasonic’s Nathan Chen was back on the road. This time with Stars on Ice, the premier touring figure skating show featuring some of the sport’s greatest talents.
As fate would have it, the 24-city tour would make a stop in Newark, NJ, home of Panasonic Corporation of North America’s regional headquarters, and present a perfect opportunity for Chen to stop by and spend time with his Team Panasonic supporters.
On Friday, April 22, Panasonic team members gathered in Newark to not only give Chen a gold medal welcome, but also to celebrate their recent return to the workplace, as well as being named A Great Place To Work in 2022.
The celebration began with a welcome from Panasonic Corporation of North America’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Linda Woodruff who emphasized the strength of the Company’s culture and her deep appreciation for everyone’s contributions to the workplace.
“It’s truly great to be back in the building. Being together with our colleagues in-person again has been a truly great experience.” shared Woodruff. “It’s that same togetherness that has helped us achieve our Great Place to Work certification this year.”
Next, Chen would sit in for a one-on-one conversation about his post-Olympic life, setting and achieving goals, and the importance of having a strong team to support you. The conversation concluded with a must-see Team Panasonic surprise (Check it out!).
Following his conversation, Chen came together with Panasonic team members for photo opportunities, autographs, and even a few friendly rounds of cornhole, Jenga, and ping pong.
“It was great to be able to meet the team behind the scenes and all the people who are working for Team Panasonic,” said Chen. “To feel their support from afar during the Olympics really meant a lot.”
In early 2021, Panasonic announced that Chen would join Team Panasonic on its mission to empower youth to dream big, work hard and achieve their goals. His belief that technology is an art form that, much like figure skating, can be used to inspire and make a difference in the community and beyond, made him the perfect addition to Team Panasonic.
“It’s been really awesome to be part of Panasonic. I recently got to tour Panasonic’s headquarters in Japan and learn about its history and purpose,” Chen added. “Being someone who has been so supported in skating, it means a lot to be part of a company that gives back and supports others pursuing their passion.”
