Essential Duties:
- Programming, installing, and troubleshooting machine vision systems, equipment monitoring, and robotic vision within Panasonic’s battery manufacturing processes.
- Providing machine vision-related technical support to ongoing production operations.
- Learning the machine vision systems and creating documents and training for other teams
- Analyzing product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
- Providing technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
- Preparing product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
- Analyzing test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Evaluating engineering test results for possible application to developments of systems or other uses.
- Supporting investigation into manufacturing equipment failures and design or consulting on countermeasures from machine vision systems perspective
- Other duties may be assigned.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
- Basic/Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Preferred: None
Essential Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of vision engineering experience
- Knowledge of camera, light, and lens selection for applications ranging from defect detection to part location.
- Knowledge of quality and reliability improvement using data acquisition in conjunction with Six Sigma, Cpk, Gauge R&R, and similar quality tools.
- Skilled in the utilization of statistical analysis.
- Programming background with high-level languages such as C, C++, and Python.
- Background working in a manufacturing environment
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience programming, installing, and troubleshooting machine vision or computer vision systems.
- Experience programming, installing, and troubleshooting PLC systems such as Mitsubishi, Keyence, or Omron.
- Familiarity with wiring/cabling size/terminations and load/temperature requirements.
- Familiarity with industrial machinery design & related NFPA codes:
- 70
- 79 (and related UL standards for industrial machinery)
