What You'll Get To Do
The position will primarily be responsible for direct sales and customer development of HVAC and IAQ home comfort solutions with Builders, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and Installers. It is also works directly with manufacturers reps and sales colleagues. Additionally, this sales engineer leads customers to our showcase home in Houston, TX, to promote and demonstrate our HVAC and IAQ solution system.
Secondary responsibility will be planning and installation support for the above customers, including assisting them in selecting the proper HVAC and IAQ solution system, designing the floor plan, and installing the system with the design engineer, architects, and product engineers.
Sales Engineer Responsibilities:
- Sales and customer development of HVAC and IAQ solution system
- Establish and develop business relationships with prospective customers, primarily Builders, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and Installers, to promote and sell HVAC and IAQ solution systems including mini-split air conditioners, ventilation fans, energy recovery ventilators.
- Coordinate efforts with manufacturers reps and sales colleagues on projects. Establish customer events at our showcase home in Houston, TX, to demonstrate our HVAC and IAQ solution system.
- Achieve sales and profit targets and be responsible for developing demand forecasts for the customer base. Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
- Make clear and effective quotations for customers.
- Participate in trade shows, seminars, and field events.
HVAC and IAQ solution system planning and installation support:
- Assist customers, primarily Builders, in selecting HVAC and IAQ solution systems, creating system proposals, working with product engineers, and designing floor plans with design engineers and architects.
- Support customers by working with project engineers for the installation of HVAC and IAQ solution systems at the job site.
What You'll Bring
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree, marketing or business studies is preferred.
- 2-3 plus years of relevant experience in wholesale, commercial or residential product sales is required.
- HVAC system design, architectural design, and job site management experience are preferred.
- Knowledge about residential construction, related state code regulations, HVAC systems, and IAQ is required.
Competencies:
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving, ability to determine customer solutions, and work within a consultative sales approach.
- Must be results-oriented and able to work independently and within a team environment.
- Advanced ability to communicate with all stakeholders promptly and effectively. Ability to communicate best practices to installation builders and contractors at both the level of management and labor in a way that encourages the use of the company products as well as its preferred method of installation.
- Strong computer skills. Including MS Word, Excel, PPT, Project
- Familiar with basic statistical techniques.
- Comfortable with change and ability to lead change.
Communications:
- Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally.
- Able to articulate product features in concise, simple-to-understand language at all levels, from builder, contractor, and distributor, to specifying engineer and architect.
- Must be able to educate installation contractors and end users on best practices in a way that encourages the use of the company products.
- Able to prepare convincing arguments to close sales.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of English language, both written and verbal.
- Ability to communicate with different functions of the organization, different levels of staff, colleagues and external partners
- Spanish Bi-lingual a plus
- Candidate needs to be located in Houston Tx, this is a WFH in Houston.
Other Requirements:
- The candidate needs to be located in TX, strong preference for Houston market.
- Domestic travel may be required to present the showcase-home concepts in meetings, trade shows, job sites and customer locations. Additional travel will be necessary for company-sponsored events, training and reporting.
- Carry sample product and merchandising displays into and out of customer locations, carry and deliver for shipment and load or unload from vehicle frequently.
- Load, unload, and set up custom displays for trade shows etc.
- Negotiate construction sites unaided and be able to demonstrate product installation when necessary.

The salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
