The position:  

Regional Operations:

  • Supports Regional HR Manager in maintaining professional working relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure effective and timely provision of HR service and support.
  • Support the execution of Corporate HR projects including communication and training to the business. Perform as an audit focal. Respond to internal and external SOX auditors for HR-related information requests in areas such as new hires, terminations, and compensation and performance review process.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested from time to time by the Regional Head of Human Resources.
  • Review exit interviews, collate feedback, and communicate with Reg. HR Manager and Corporate HR
  • Facilitate and lead New Employee On-boarding.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure effective and timely provision of HR service and support.
  • Assist the Regional Head of Human Resources in the maintenance of regional Employment policies, procedures, and management guidance notes. Ensure that policies and procedures are updated in a timely manner, are clearly documented, and are available to all employees as relevant.
  • Identify and recommend changes to current systems and procedures to ensure high standards of service are maintained.
  • Represent the HR function on internal committees and workgroups as necessary.
  • Ensure an end-to-end process for onboarding for all employees is in evidence and completely documented, paying particular attention to all required new starter paperwork to enable relevant data upload to HR systems, particularly payroll.

  Coaching and Employee Relations:

  • Advise and coach business units supported on a range of HR matters including but not limited to employee performance management, positive employee relations, disciplinary actions, and succession plans. Review document drafts providing feedback and recommendations for changes.
  • Assists and provides training to management on HR systems and HR processes.
  • Perform as owner and leader for driving the resolution of various employee relations issues by intake of the issue, investigation, and research, soliciting any necessary resources or experts including legal counsel, and then resolving the issue at hand. Serve as Employee Relations contact for complex HR-related issues. Provide management support for complex escalated claims.
  • Partner with managers in employee development to identify development needs for themselves and their team in line with the Company’s Employee Development Policy and development frameworks and set up appropriate training.
Recruiting:
  • Ensure that all employment processes are followed (such as background checks, employment authorization, etc.) including maintenance of recruitment agencies (or other sources), recruiting tools, and procedures are in compliance with recruitment and selection-related functions with relevant laws & regulations. Remain involved in the selection processes, where necessary
  • Develop staffing plans and sourcing pipelines for all direct requisitions by position, location, and timing to support the business.
  • Provide full-service recruitment to assigned requisition load, including sourcing, interviewing, and selection.
  • Build a proactive talent pipeline that consistently ensures diverse candidate pools.
  • Review applications, recommend a selection strategy, implement the agreed selection process and build rapport with potential candidates.
  • Use traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc. as relevant.
  • Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure the achievement of staffing goals.
  • Execute promotions and internal transfers ensuring system processes are completed, promotion/transfer letters are created, and communicate with the employee, employee’s Line Manager, and internal HR colleagues to ensure that promotion and transfer activities are fully executed including pay changes, visa changes, EOS payments, medical insurance changes, employee file transfer (if inter-region transfer or promotion).
Employee Services
  • Respond to employee queries on relevant HR topics via direct queries, phones, Regional mailbox, or any other channel of communication.
  • Support the execution of employee events and meetings such as annual employee event, policy meetings, and Service Awards.
  • Lead and execute employee events and meetings such as annual employee event, policy meetings, and Service Awards within the allocated employee morale budget. This includes coordinating with departments, vendors, and Junior HR Reps for the event.
  • Travel to stations within the region to meet staff, execute employee events, and conduct training and workshops on HR topics.
Training and Development/Performance Management
  • Keep up to date with employment legislation and ensure continuing professional development in line with recognized standards of the CIPD.
  • Undertake and participate in HR and training projects as agreed with the Regional Head of HR.

What we’re looking for:  

  • Advanced interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Advanced problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Strong Process Management Skills
  • Awareness of best practices of HR in the region
  • Knowledge of a European language would be extremely beneficial but is not mandatory. German language skills are a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of recent experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or 3 additional years’ directly related experience in an HR environment with knowledge of more than four HR functions. (11 years’ total)
  • Post-graduate coursework is desired.
  • HR Certification is required.
  • Exposure to employee representative bodies eg Works Councils and/or Trade Unions (UK and/or Germany)
  • Hands-on experience with disciplinary, grievance, and investigation procedures in UK / Ireland.
  • Project Management experience to drive country and region-wide initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in enhancing, developing, and implementing policies and procedures
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time internationally
