Sr. Manager Factory Integration



Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager Factory integration role will be responsible and accountable for supporting the design and integration of Operations and Information Technology systems including MES (Manufacturing Execution System) applications, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) integration, HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems, device integration systems, and general process control automation for existing and future factory projects. 


As part of the PENA Technology Group, this individual will work closely with the existing Digital Transformation Group (DTG), MES support and design teams, Operations, Continuous Improvement Team, and MEBD teams on projects to expand and improve the integration of Operations and Information Technology systems for both GF1 and potential future expansion projects.  


Responsible and accountable for providing input and design activities related to data flow through the various systems from Manufacturing Execution Systems through Enterprise Resource Planning systems. PENA is a leader in EV battery technology and the current and future Factory is designed to be “lights out” requiring an elevated level of automation of both product and data flow. In-depth knowledge of MES and ERP integration required. 


This role will include extended periods of travel both within and outside of North America in support of PENA and MEBD activities. 


Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for identifying key integration points between the various key systems comprising the IT/OT ecosystem and automating the data flow between these systems 
  • Responsible for developing the data model needed to support end to end integration of data flow resulting in bi-directional flow of needed data to support manufacturing operations, inventory mgmt., Planning, maintenance, and accounting  
  • Coordinate with key resources at Reno Nevada site to ensure long term designs and short-term improvements are aligned with overall PENA architecture 
  • Escalate issues quickly to ensure minimal disruption
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications:  Requirements - Required and/or Preferred



  • Basic/Required Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, related field, or equivalent work experience 




Essential Qualifications:

  • Significant manufacturing experience in a fast-paced high-tech environment
  • Five or more years of experience in IT/OT related field with strong emphasis on manufacturing and ERP systems. Thorough knowledge of MES and ERP required  
  • Thorough knowledge of data modeling, data integration, and reporting systems required  
  • This position will be based in Japan for the first 12-18 months (about 1 and a half years) followed by reassignment to Panasonic Energy North America US operations. Regular periodic international travel required
