What you will get to do:

The Smart Mobility Office within Panasonic acts as an incubation engine to capture new opportunities and become a gamechanger in the rapidly transforming transportation industry. As a part of this Office, the OneConnect platform at Panasonic is an enabler of intelligent mobility. By connecting vehicles and fleets to the cloud, OneConnect captures data on vehicle use and performance, providing fleets, drivers and manufacturers with a range of analytics and connected services that make transportation safer, faster, more convenient, more cost-effective and better for our environment. These are the “technologies that move us.”

The Senior Technical Sales Manager position will manage the OneConnect sales pipeline and manage key customer accounts. This position will report into the Vice President responsible for One Connect and will work closely with functional business areas including business development, marketing, product planning, applications engineering and development as well as overseas divisions for international customers.

  • Partner with business development to cultivate an active sales pipeline for our SaaS and Deployment services and close new business opportunities. This accountability will include activities to work through new customer agreements, statements of work and negotiate pricing and business terms.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner to guide target customer accounts through the customer journey and convert new prospects from the opportunity portfolio into new customers. Responsible for account management, invoicing, etc for designated accounts.
  • Work with the OneConnect business and contribute to customer feedback, market research, marketing and other related efforts. Help create internal reports, presentations, sales decks and marketing materials.
  • Manage Salesforce CRM to help convert prospects from the opportunity portfolio into new customers.


What You’ll Bring:

Education & Experience:

  • Candidate should have 10+ years’ B2B sales or consulting experience, preferably in digital tech, telematics, SaaS and related to transportation
  • Technical background in software and/or automotive electronics/engineering required.
  • Proven track record of customer account management, sales & business development and executing on behalf of integrated sales & marketing campaigns to support new sales opportunities and foster existing accounts
  • Experience integrally working with sales, marketing & legal teams.
  • Experience in working with automotive OEMs and/or suppliers is a plus
  • Experience building and presenting marketing decks and reports is a plus
  • Experience conducting and presenting market research is a plus
  • Experience in working with motorcycle and/or recreation vehicle companies is a plus
  • Experience in working with Japan and/or EU customers is a plus
  • Bi/multi-lingual in Japanese/English, German/English, is also a plus
  • Proven track record of executing on behalf of integrated sales & marketing campaigns to generate new sales opportunities and foster existing accounts
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) highly preferred, MBA is a plus.

  • Data-driven, can work with a CRM system, understand KPIs and report on success while recommending optimization opportunities for the sales development process.
  • Experience working both independently and within close teams in a fast-paced work environment, managing multiple opportunities and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates drive and tenacity to maintain high levels of productivity; works with vigor, effectiveness and determination; Seizes opportunities; Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully
  • A hands-on team player who can also think and execute (thinker/doer).
  • Proven experience executing strategies to nurture leads, drive adoption, and accelerate growth.
  • Excels at cross-functional communications across marketing, sales, and management.
  • Data-driven, can work with a CRM system, understand KPIs and report on success while recommending optimization opportunities for the sales development process.
  • Experience developing visually powerful PowerPoint presentations is a plus.
  • Experience working both independently and within close teams in a fast-paced work environment, juggling multiple opportunities and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates drive and tenacity to maintain high levels of productivity; works with vigor, effectiveness and determination; Seizes opportunities; Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully

Other Requirements:

  • Position is remote until further notice.
  • Up to 50% US domestic travel & 25% international travel required
  • preferred candidate can be remote anywhere in the midwest


What We Offer:
The pay for this position is expected to start at $155,000 per year or higher, based on qualifications.  This position will be eligible for an annual target bonus of 20% based on individual and company performance.
