YOUR MISSION: 

 

Financial Reporting and Analysis has primary responsibility to coordinate, develop, and consolidate the organization’s short and long-term financial plans and to analyze and identify financial opportunities to improve the organization’s profitability and cash flow.  The position is responsible for consolidation, analysis, and reporting of the PASA group monthly results and forecast, annual business plan, and mid-term plan.  He / She will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management, including financial presentations, product and program level financial analysis, industry / peer group comparisons, and other projects requested by senior management.  This new position also leads and drive more effective use of automation tools and the increase use of advanced data analytics throughout the accounting / finance organization.


A DAY IN THE LIFE:
 

  • Lead the process for timely forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis;
  • Partner across disciplines within the finance/accounting function, including: Operations (including factories), Engineering, Purchasing, Business Units, and Sales to ensure a coordinated approach to financial planning and forecasting;
  • Coordinate monthly reporting for region including: monthly flash and actual results submission, monthly variance analysis, operations report, and financial reporting deck;
  • Drive efficient, integrated and consistent systems and processes for financial reporting across the company; Identify and lead initiatives to streamline and automate financial reporting processes;
  • Provide technology and tools that will allow required levels of reporting and data access for senior management.
  • Lead cash flow management and forecasting;
  • Provide business analytical support for profitability analysis by product, platform, plant, BU, and customer.
  • Coordinate region response for various analysis requests for Japan HQ and Panasonic North America (PNA) stakeholders.
  • Serves as an expert in PASA financial systems; Provides training programs where necessary.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement and Lean methodologies across the finance/accounting function, with a keen emphasis on process simplification and automation.
  • Coach, develop and mentor team, including developing the next generation of Panasonic financial and business leaders.


MUST-HAVES:
 

 

  • BS Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent, Master’s Degree is a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience in a finance / accounting leadership role, with an emphasis on financial reporting and analysis
  • Experience in a multi-national manufacturing company with multi-plant and multi-region operations preferred (automotive experience highly preferred)
  • Experience interacting and leading projects cross functionally (not just within finance, but working with plants, sales, purchasing, etc.) and cross culturally
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills, and the ability to explain and communicate key decision points in an understandable and actionable format for decision-making purposes.
  • Demonstrated track record of building trust and operating effectively within a dynamic and changing organization.
  • Team player with a strong ability to build relationships and instill confidence and trust with executive management and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in SAP ERP system required; Experienced with advanced financial analysis tools preferred
