What You Will Be Doing:

Join a dynamic engineering team developing the next generation of In-Flight Entertainment systems. Your responsibilities will include: Developing new power supply solutions to provide on-board power and entertainment including AC/DC Power supplies, PFCs, high-voltage DC/DC converters (LLC and flyback). As part of this job you will be responsible for board-level design, test and documentation.

Other focus areas:

  • Power control for USB Type C and PD 2.0.
  • DSP- or FPGA-base design, especially for power converter control.
  • Hardware development and planning including layout; analysis; evaluation; prototype build and test. 

Strong emphasis on:

  • Performing qualitative and quantitative tests to determine properties, characteristics, and performance of materials, circuits, mechanisms, assemblies and systems.
  • Design and development of electronic circuits and board assemblies.
    Record and analyze test data.
  • Select hardware and material assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements.
  • Verify embedded firmware and higher-level software functionality of the product.
  • Provide leadership and/or technical guidance to junior engineers, designers, and support personnel as assigned.
  • Take ownership of product design and requirements analysis.
  • Provide problem solving direction to assure compliance with all product requirements.

What You will Bring to the Table:

  • Highly adept in designing and developing requirements from specifications, oral instructions, or preliminary sketches.
  • Proven ability to analyze and design circuits; implement test methods and procedures.
  • Proven ability to prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Ability to resolve a wide range of design challenges.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex design issues and use collected data to drive the most optimal solution.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with senior staff.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to other engineers.
Education and Experience:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (MS in Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • 10-15 years experience in areas such as higher mathematics, electronics, and circuit design.
  • Greater than 8 years of experience with at least two of the following:
  • Design of AC/DC Power supplies, particularly PFCs, high-voltage DC/DC converters (LLC and flyback)
  • Power control for USB Type C and PD 2.0.
  • DSP- or FPGA-base design, especially for power converter control

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to travel to Japan and other domestic and international locations as required approximately 5% of the time
