What You'll Get To Do:

Sales Process:

  • Promotes, sells, secures orders from existing and prospective customers in the IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) arena such as ventilation fans, energy recovery ventilators and air purification, through a relationship-based approach.
  • Achieve sales and profit targets for area of responsibility and responsible for developing demand forecast for assigned customer base.
  • Demonstrates products to existing or potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers, manufacturers representatives and prospective customers in the assigned territory or market segment to generate new business for the organizations products.
  • Responsible for personal visits and presentations to Builders, Architects, Engineers, Contractors and Installer targets in support of the sales plan to meet the needs of the company and region.
  • Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals or quotations for current and potential customers.
  • Participate in trade shows, seminars and field events as directed.

Planning & Training:

  • Analyzes the territory or markets potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers value to the organization.
  • Creates and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
  • Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive advertising and promotional trends through reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all Panasonic products, features, functions, and benefits and competitive advantages
  • Provide on-the-job training mentoring to new distributor sales employees.

Customer Service:

  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.

Administrative:

  • Maintain clear written records of all contacts and potential business in the format requested.
  • Submit detailed monthly sales report to the Regional Sales Manager with customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products.
  • Input expense reports no later than 2 weeks after the expense in incurred
  • Input special pricing requests into SAP as required
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory as well as occasional overseas travel, 20-30 travel requirement from your home based office annually

What You'll Bring:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree, marketing or business studies is preferred.
  • 5-8 plus years relevant experience in sales of wholesale, commercial, industrial or residential products required.
  • Highly competent in use of a personal computer particularly MS Office with ability to acquire new skills with corporate business systems. Able to utilize CRM program for lead generation and disbursement.
  • Candidate needs to be located in Northern California/ this is a work from home 

Competencies:

  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving, ability to determine solutions for customers, consultative sales approach.
  • Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Has a basic ability to communicate with all stakeholders in a timely and effective way.  Responds rapidly to all inquiries, at a minimum within one business day.
  • Ability to educate best practice to installation contractors at both the level of management and labor in a way that encourages the use of the company's products as well as its preferred method of installation.

Communications:

  • Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails in a timely manner,
  • Able to articulate product features in concise, simple to understand language at all levels, from contractor and distributor, to specifying engineer, and architect.
  • Ability to educate best practice to installation contractors and end users in a way that encourages the use of the companys products.
  • Able to prepare convincing arguments to close sales.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of English both written and verbally.

Other Requirements:

  • Carry sample product and merchandizing displays into and out of customer locations, carry and deliver for shipment and load or unload from car or van frequently. Typically able to carry 40lbs load by self
  • Load, unload, setup custom displays for trade shows etc. Typically able to carry 40lbs load by self
  • Negotiate construction sites unaided and be able to demonstrate product installation when necessary.
