Job Summary: 

RF Test Engineer II to be responsible for developing and maintaining antenna and microwave hardware test equipment. Perform as technical expert and resource to management, manufacturing and engineering. Develops and executes product testing and integration plans for new or updated products. Responsible for technical leadership for manufacturing RF Antenna Systems. Understand concepts from the OEM and apply them to the Panasonic in-house manufacturing and test process. Responsible to initiate continuous improvement programs to enhance the quality, reliability, manufacturability, product cost and cycle time of manufacturing RF Antennas.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains RF test station and procedure for Antennas.
  • Perform fault isolation and root cause analysis of test station.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer for insourced products.
  • Become Panasonic in-house expert on testing microwave (Ku-Band) antennas.
  • Define, implement and improve manufacturing test methodologies from both hardware and process software perspectives.
  • Define, implement and improve manufacturing test methodologies from both hardware and process software perspectives.
  • Isolate root cause of production test failures to module level.
  • Identify test failure trends and define solutions.
  • Identify and implement product improvements.
  • Act as technical lead and Provide technical direction to members of assigned work teams.
  • Work in conjunction with Test S.W developers to establish a comprehensive test solution.
  • Perform fault isolation and root cause analysis of testing equipment.

Expertise and Skills

  • High Expertise in testing LNA, Power transistors, Mixer, filter, waveguide, Mixer, VCO, Synthesizer etc.
  • Expertise in antennas testing
  • Expertise in testing transmission lines: micro-strips, striplines, waveguides, coax
  • High expertise in automation using labview, Visual Basic
  • Expertise in testing at different frequency bands: L, C, Ku, Ka
  • Familiar with production environment
  • RF, microwave testing

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
  • Highly proficient in project planning while addressing external/internal dependencies across multiple functions.

  • May provide guidance to other technical positions. Ability to provide technical direction to assigned project teams and perform as a technical expert and a source of information.
  • Demonstrated experience providing identifiable contributions to the success of a specific product/project.
  • Work on problems of moderate to diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Proficient with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Electronic Engineering field.
  • Use professional concepts and applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent writing and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in person and on the phone.
  • Develops solutions to clearly defined problems of moderate to diverse scope. Analysis involves selecting the best alternative method or process from among several existing alternatives, or based on evaluation of identifiable factors.

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in RF related products test equipment development.
  • IFE and/or Avionics industry related experience is preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to travel to domestic or international locations as required, up to 10% of the time.
