Job Summary:
The QIP Technician II maintains and reduces defect rate through data analysis, understanding of defects, troubleshooting, repair, and improvement activities. QIP Technician II will need to have all certifications of a QIP I in addition be capable of perform the functions of an operator to recover machines under their ownership. QIP Technician II will have demonstrated knowledge of fixes of major root causes of defects within a specific process area under their ownership.
Essential Duties:
- Follows all company and departmental policies and procedures. Must be able to maintain active communication with management and other employees about all job-related concerns and inform the Lead/Supervisor when problems occur. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Capable of using Tableau, MES, JMP appropriately to obtain data to determine correlation and daily priorities.
- Have sufficient machine knowledge of why defects happen, what inspection is conducted to reject cells and understand major known root causes to defects.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines, and basic understanding of electrical
- Understands basic mechanism of common mechanical parts, sensors, and vision system in the process.
- Familiar with PDCA cycles, observe machine and check data after adjustment before closing any issue.
- Able to appropriately use precision tools like dial indicator, caliper, micrometer, etc.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all work done on the equipment and machines.
- Communicate with team promptly and accurately. Complete pass down of unfinished tasks to another shift accurately and informative.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
- Basic/Required: High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) and/or two years technical training
- Preferred: 2-year Associates degree in electronic technology or equivalent experience
Essential Qualifications:
- 3 years manufacturing experience with in-depth understanding of manufacturing equipment programming, maintenance and repair Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Suite Programs, Tableau and MES.
- Must be accurate and a detail-oriented team player.
- Need general parts, electrical, and mechanical equipment understanding.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers. common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of electrical maintenance experience
- Experience with troubleshooting PLC based control systems desired
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting highly recommended
- Welding and fabrication skills considered a plus
- JPM, Python and other data tool skills considered a plus
- Strong in Data Analysis to identify issues and implement countermeasure immediately followed by permanent corrective action
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies through application
