Job Summary

The Project Manager will manage small to medium satellite system projects from bid tender through to system handover, and transitions to client operations. As a focal point of contact, the individual will ensure customer requirements are defined, actioned and achieved.

Working closely with other departments such as sales, accounting, supply chain and engineering, the individual will also oversee project delivery of remote VSAT and communication systems.

Major Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Logistics, Scheduling and Planning
  • Review and modify the bill of materials to ensure accurate details and descriptions including expenses and transportation/ shipping costs
  • Create Project Plans and comply with timelines
  • Create Scopes of Work and distribute to the appropriate project team
  • Coordinate build outs and FAT or VSAT systems and ensure completion according to acceptable standards
  • Coordinate and schedule shipment of equipment for international and/ or domestic installations with Supply Chain
  • Update and resolve work orders
Sales Support/ Alignment and Customer Care
  • Assemble project team, coordinate and lead project review/ kick-off meetings with internal team members and customers
  • Review Sales Orders and/ or customer RFP to determine and understand customer requirements
  • Maintain communications with customers post-installations to verify customer satisfaction, quality of work and proper operation of system

The right individual has:
  • Bachelor's Degree/ equivalent educational qualification in IT, Electronic Communication, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3+ years of related experience, or 6+ years direct field service experience in the industry (military service may be substituted in lieu of experience)
  • Project Management qualification s(eg. PRINCE2, Polk, PMP or similar)
  • Demonstrable and significant experience in Onshore/ Offshore oil and gas, maritime and mining industries
  • KNowledge and experience of SCPC, TDMA and Mesh satellite technologies
  • Ability to lead an operational team focused on customer service
  • Focus on details, with proven ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Strong understanding of cultural sensitivities in the areas of work in order to effectively and efficiently collaborate with teams in different regions and countries
  • The ability and willingness to travel via vessel, airplane and helicopter in support of our customers as required
  • The ability to work in challenging environment (hot, dusty, cold, remote environments) and to lift typical loads encountered in the industry
