The position:

This Digital Product Management role is responsible for managing our existing Interactive (UI) products. This role would suit a candidate with experience of UI/UX product development, as well as a good understanding of good user interface design and build methodologies.

Our UI products enable our airline customers and their design agencies to create, build and deploy engaging experiences for inflight entertainment systems that effectively present a wide range of services, including movies, music, games, shopping and other entertainment and information options. Our UI products facilitate highly customized interactive experiences for airline passengers that reflect their individual brand, culture and other key factors. The product manager will work closely with our internal engineering teams to understand current UI implementations, as well as understand airline customer requirements to develop a cohesive future product strategy, with clearly defined features, roadmaps and execution plans. You will need to understand and factor in business needs, market conditions and consumer trends.

Although the current focus for this role is for the UI products, we may expect the product manager to drive the execution of other digital products to build market-driven, engaging experiences and solutions for Panasonic Avionics customers.

Product Management

  • Articulate customer needs, build associated business cases and prioritize product requirements; synthesize data from various sources to inform product decisions
  • Coordinate and synchronize product initiatives across different internal efforts by establishing shared vision and building consensus on common components
  • Develop business cases and customer proposals for all new product opportunities
  • Develop pricing guidelines for digital products, creating demand and achieving revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share goals
  • Work with Sales & Business Unit leads to develop accurate new product revenue forecasts
  • Successfully champion product launches through requirements definition, product development, go to market plans and commercialization
  • Monitor and report on KPIs that measure the success of our digital products
  • Manage product lifecycle performance, product quality/delivery/reliability, cost reduction, obsolescence, and strategic resource allocation

Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional product teams and drive collaboration; understand interdependencies to help define product priorities
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial and technical goals
  • Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units
  • Explore alternative technology and approaches to solving problems

Process Management

  • Communicate product plans, benefits and results to all audiences — internal teams, external partners and PAC's senior leadership
  • Break down problems, document problem statements and estimate efforts

Create product roadmaps, software features and requirements for engineering consumption

What we're looking for:

  • Proficient in new product development process, lifecycle management, VOC, and development of business plans for products and platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in diverse team environment, including coordination, problem solving, conflict resolution and consensus building skills.
  • Demonstrated customer-centric focus, keenly aware of markets, trends, competition
  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up product decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to influence others
  • Requires the ability to develop comprehensive business cases with detailed financial analysis; Ability to build and analyze models to forecast and track revenue results.
  • Ability to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
  • Pragmatic Marketing experience/certification
  • Agile methodology
  • Familiarity with experience prototyping and other creative ways to gather direct feedback early in the product development process
  • A flexible, but organized approach to managing your work; the ability to manage ambiguity and complexity
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing or computer science disciplines
  • MBA preferred, but not required
  • 5 years of relevant product management experience with a track record of building and launching successful products
  • Experience with UI/UX methodologies and tools is required
  • A passion/interest in digital applications, interactive user experiences and graphics design is desirable
  • Experience working with airlines, or elsewhere in the aviation, travel or related business areas would be beneficial
