The Organization Development (OD) Specialist contributes to the effective planning, implementation, follow-up, sustainability and improvement of various processes and projects. Those projects and processes can relate to culture, leadership development, talent/succession planning, change management, performance management and team development. The OD specialist can be focused on business unit specific efforts and/or contribute to corporate wide projects and programs as assigned. This role also collaborates with others as part of a multi-disciplinary Human Resource team to assist in coordinating tasks, services and the delivery of high impact client support.
- Collaborate with business leaders and HR partners to develop resources and procedures that streamline processes, improve execution, and develop critical talent
- Create tools, materials, and procedures to assist with execution and implementation of organizational development and talent management processes; examples include project plans, quick reference guides, assessments, surveys, communications
- Support the Employee Opinion Survey action planning process mean to increase employee engagement and satisfaction
- Support the implementation and sustainability of Hussmann’s competency-based employee development program including content creation, reporting and other administrative support
- Actively assist in the performance management and talent planning process; build timelines, prepare resources, reporting and ensure team meets key milestones
- Work with OD Manager to assess organizational needs to determine the overall direction of OD projects and initiatives
- Research, identify, and apply best practices to effectively manage OD/HR initiatives and projects
- Facilitate employee training, team building workshops or other OD interventions as needed
- Perform related administrative support responsibilities
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master’s Degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior or I/O Psychology preferred.
- 2 - 4+ years of experience in organizational development/talent management (or 1-2 years’ experience with Master’s Degree in subject listed above including internships/externships)
- Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively interface with a wide variety of people, including senior level managers
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Self-starter, comfortable taking initiative and executing tasks
- Must be able to work well as part of a team
- Experience with Workday a plus
