The Position:
- Join a dynamic engineering team developing the next generation of In-Flight Entertainment systems. Your responsibilities will include: Developing new power supply solutions to provide on-board power and in-flight entertainment hardware including AC/DC Power supplies and high-voltage DC/DC converters (LLC and flyback). As part of this job, you will be responsible for the design, testing, and documentation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES.Description

Strong emphasis on:

Performing qualitative and quantitative tests to determine properties, characteristics, and the performance of materials, circuits, mechanisms, assemblies, and systems.

Design and development of electronic circuits and board assemblies.
Analysis of test data. -
Select hardware and material assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements.

Verify embedded firmware and higher-level software functionality of the product.

Ability to apply problem-solving methods to ensure compliance with all product requirements.
Other focus areas:

Power control for USB Type C and Power Delivery 2.0.

Inverter design.
-
DSP or FPGA-base design, especially for power converter control.

Hardware development and planning including layout, analysis, evaluation, prototype build, and test.

The salary or hourly wage range of $90,000- 151,000 USD is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- BS in Electrical Engineering required followed by an MS in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 3 years' experience in IFE Industry required.
- 5-8 years' experience in areas such as higher mathematics, electronics, mechanics and circuit design.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to develop requirements from specifications, oral instructions, or preliminary sketches.

Ability to analyze and design circuits; implement test methods and procedures.

Proven ability to prepare technical reports and documentation.

Ability to resolve a wide range of design challenges.
Education and Experience:

BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (MS in Electrical Engineering preferred).

Minimum of 8 years of experience in areas such as higher mathematics, electronics, and circuit design.

Hands-on experience with analog simulators.

Three or more years of experience with at least two of the following:

Design of AC/DC Power supplies.

Power Factor Correction
-
High-voltage DC/DC converters (LLC and flyback).

Power control for USB Type C and Power Delivery 2.0.

DSP or FPGA-base design, especially for power converter control.
