We are looking to hire an experienced Master Production Scheduler to join our corporate team at our facility in Lake Forest. Salary range is from $70,000 to $118,000 based on years of experience. 

This is a full time, direct hire position, offering full medical, dental, vision, 401k, and life insurance. JOB SUMMARY
  • The Production Master Scheduler plans and establishes production schedules. Monitors materials inventories, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors which affect schedules. Communicate programs status to Project Managers & Lake Forest Manufacturing Department Heads. Will be accountable for status on all assigned programs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Master Schedule
    • Creates and maintains Production Master Schedule (and departmental production schedules where necessary) based on capacity and production cycle times.
    • Coordinates flow of work within or between departments of manufacturing plant to ensure efficient production
    • Devise alternative action plan for a program under critical situations: identify, implement, and execute recovery plan working with all relevant team members to revise production schedules due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, production, supply chain, quality, project management, engineering and any other stake holders
    • Distribute production schedules for the release of Work Orders to sub-departments
    • Coordinates production or shipping activities to resolve complaints or eliminate delays
    • Track and status engineering data/documents necessary for shipment of LFM product
  • Status
    • Confers with department Supervisor(s) and/or Lead(s) to determine progress of work
    • Uses ERP system to track and locate parts, document issues, and status production units
    • Maintains and provides accurate and timely manufacturing status report(s)
    • Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or materials requirements and establish priorities and estimated complete dates (ECDs)
    • Provide documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, or changes to cost estimates
    • Verify shipment of LFM products
  • Supply Chain & General
    • Works with Planner/Buyer(s) to requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demand
    • May be required to calculate figures, such as required amounts of labor or materials, manufacturing costs, using pricing schedules, adding machines, calculators, or computers
    • Adheres to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives
    • May be required to participate in and/or lead planning meetings

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • AA or Bachelors in a technical discipline, equivalent experience may be considered
  • Must have 5+ years experience in production planning. (Seasoned or level III production planner)
  • Must have 3+ years practical experience in developing and maintaining the Master Production Schedule in a manufacturing environment of Avionics or Electronics
  • Expert in utilization of ERP systems and software, preferably Oracle
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing and assembly
  • Working knowledge of APICS, Lean Manufacturing, JIT, Operations
  • APICS CPIM preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Planning/Problem Solving/Analysis
  • Knowledge and application of production efficiency methodologies (5S, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or Theory of Constraints)
  • Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills (must be a team player)
  • Highly organized, excellent time management, follow-up and multi-tasking ability
  • Ideally have a technical knowledge of Panasonics (or like) products, able to provide viable options/solutions and resolution to various problems
  • Ability to read and understand Work Orders and build sequence instructions
  • Proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint and ERP
  • Understands how to document production goals and deviations from these goals
  • Understands customer demand and how to alter production so that this demand is met
  • Has the ability to adequately act as a liaison between departments within the company
  • Demonstrates at least basic knowledge of supply chain activities
  • Can work efficiently under pressure and help motivate employees to meet demands
  • Strong work ethic

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds unaided
  • Standard work requires significant amount of keying and mousing. Must be able to accommodate extended periods of computer usage to meet business needs
