The Smart Mobility Office within Panasonic acts as an incubation engine to capture new opportunities and become a gamechanger in the rapidly transforming transportation industry. As a part of this Office, the OneConnect platform at Panasonic is an enabler of smart mobility. By connecting vehicles and fleets to the cloud, OneConnect captures data on vehicle use and performance, providing fleets, drivers and manufacturers with a range of analytics and connected services that make transportation safer, faster, more convenient, more cost-effective and better for our environment. As a Market Research Intern, you will conduct and support market research initiatives for the OneConnect team. You will help to identify and understand emerging markets, being vigilant to new business growth opportunities. You will gather, analyze, and assist in presenting actionable consumer, market and competitor insights. You will gain invaluable experience operating inside of an emerging global business in the smart mobility space. Your output will help shape the strategic direction of our business providing strategic recommendations that inform our marketing, business strategy, and product development decisions. Your role will be focused on supporting the creation of clear and compelling market research storylines that are strategically sound and emotionally provocative to inform business strategy, the development of product roadmaps, enhance marketing efforts, drive engineering efforts, and provide early warning for strategic course corrections.

You aren’t afraid to “roll up your sleeves” and get things done. You value intellectual honesty and are not afraid to stand behind the insights you uncover. You love technology and innovation (and probably geek out when new things get released). You want to gain experience conducting research that helps companies launch new products and identify new growth opportunities.

This position will report to the Lead Market Analyst and will be a part of the OneConnect team.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Research competitors and compile competitive intelligence in the connected vehicle space
  • Develop a broad understanding of the connected vehicle landscape including, but not limited to products, markets, competitors, etc
  • Manage or assist in managing market research projects
  • Create reports and present or assist in presenting findings to internal stakeholders\
What You'll Bring:

Education & Experience

  • Knowledge of or experience in Management Consulting, Market Research, Psychology, Social Science, or related field(s);
  • Basic knowledge of market research methodologies;
  • Interest in conducting market research and competitive intelligence in an emerging technology-related field
  • Experience in market data visualization, data analytics or in understanding large and complex data sets


  • Above-average analytical, decision-making, project management, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills;
  • Self-starter—always looking for opportunities to improve something and will jump in to fix things without being asked;
  • A strategic and creative thinker who is a strong team player and willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary;
  • Experience working both independently and within close teams in a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience building and presenting market research decks and reports 
  • Flourishes in ambiguity
