What you will get to do:

Reporting to the Director of Visual System Department of PIVS BU.  As the Manager for Visual System Engineering including the Sales Engineering, Product Engineering and Solution Engineering, this leadership role will be responsible for building operational strategy and providing organizational direction. The role includes direct / indirect customer support of application design, installation, technical training, and 3rd party product development for Visual product (Projector, Flat panel display, Sound).

This role needs to work closely with all relevant PIVS BU functions to develop an Ecosystem of PIVS products including 3rd party product with higher-valuable opportunities to satisfy customers.

Management / Leadership:

  • Provide strategic and day to day leadership to Engineering team
  • Coach and develop member by giving guidance, suggestions, and feedback to build their capabilities
  • Strategic planning and development of new product (including fiscal management), resource allocation and personnel supervision to ensure 100% execution against project/plan
  • Requires exceptional business skills required to both manage the customer needs and Panasonic requirements to create WIN - WIN scenarios.
  • Communicate customer expectations clearly throughout to the organization, ensuring product/solution design, deployment processes, and business systems meet those.
  • Build business relationships that are mutually beneficial with customers, partner, and 3rd party as engineering.

Product Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Build reliable and sustainable product evaluation processes and communication closely with factory to enhance the product.
  • Build the Management System (IT Platform & Processes) for VOC, work closely with related function like Marketing, Service, and feedback it to the factory to improve/enhance the product and solutions.
  • Participant the customer meetings to plan out the scope, schedule, and cost of services to be provided

Sales Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Build trust with clients that they value to create repeatable business for Panasonic.
  • To understand the market needs, Panasonic’s core competencies, and areas for growth of each product to explain and promote it to customers.
  • Requires high level engineering skills for Visual product to put together solutions to customer problems.
  • Manage Engineering team to work closely with Sales team the proposal efforts and pipeline generation

Solution Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Using Panasonic and non-Panasonic products create solutions that provide value add and differentiation for our solutions in the marketplace and keeping Panasonic ahead of the competition.
  • Guide the requirements, technology choices, buy vs. build analysis, partner selection, design, development, testing, deployment, closure, and support activities for software and system projects.

Business Development:

  • Organize and present technical material in an easily understood manner; Identify and understand customer business and/or technical problems, formulate and articulate solutions that present value to customers and profit to Panasonic.
  • To understand the market needs, Panasonic’s core competencies, and areas for growth of each product to explain and promote it to customers.


What You’ll Bring:

Scope:

  • Manage Visual System engineering team.
  • Budget, employees direct and indirect and other resources managed.

Education & Experience:

  • BS degree in engineering field or 10 years equivalent experience required, Engineering, Project Management or Business Development and Product Development experience.
  • Extensive practical management experience in the electronics service industry. Demonstrated knowledge and able to get up-to-speed quickly on video engineering, computer networking, and classroom technologies and applications.
  • Familiarity with national commercial electric codes.

Competencies:

  • Project management, vendor relationships and negotiation, financial planning
  • Able to write business requirements documentation for process and systems development and improvement.
  • Dynamic leadership with ability to develop employees, and build teams across internal and external companies, cultures, and business functions.

Communications:

  • Key communications contacts (internal/external) and level of persuasion required
  • Communicates with other Managers and PSSNA and PIVS executive, key customers, and executive and PNA and PSSNA related function staff for our customers and partners effectively and clearly.
