Provide strategic and analytical logistics support to internal and external customers of Hussmann. Requires creative thinking as well as strong data analysis skills. Position works closely with the Logistics Manager to help create detailed spend and service reports, support strategic initiatives, and offer cost savings solutions. Strong quantitative and analytical skills; familiar with domestic and international freight and parcel package Logistics; broad range of computer skills—database, spreadsheet, and statistics applications; understand contracts and tariffs; self-directed; ability to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change; comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels; project management skills.

Role and Responsibilities

Analytics

  • Analyze, validate, manipulate and manage large amounts of transportation spend data
  • Prepare research and present data analysis to support strategies and innovations, strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Responsible for the development and use of freight spend metric analysis, and monthly KPI reporting, summarize findings and present recommendations
  • Assist Logistics Manager with RFP, RFQ, benchmarking and planning
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and make recommendations

 

Vendor Management

  • Interface daily/weekly with 3rd Party Freight Bill Audit and Payment Provider, audit and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Research and resolve rejected freight bills as the main point of contact to the carrier base
  • Work closely with 3PL providers to develop reports, audit ageing invoice files, validate missing billing requirements

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Act as liaison among Plants, internal and external customers, supporting the logistics initiatives of the Supply Chain leadership team
  • Develop strong inter-company relationships with support teams and customer groups
  • Problem-solving and Innovation, investigate service issues and support resolution
  • Support the development and implementation of new processes under the guidance of management
  • Enforce Logistics policy throughout the organization, and with company vendors
  • Assist internal customer teams with the freight claims and recovery process

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of three to five years’ experience in a logistics/transportation environment

Preferred Skills

• Strong Excel skills are a must (V-lookups, Pivot Tables, Data Analysis, etc.).
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and look for trends using Excel
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt to and work within a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
