Plant lead for Supplier Quality and supplier rejection/warranty transactions. Facilitate quality calls on the plant floor related to scrap and defect opportunities for both internally produced parts and supplier related failure. Summarize scrap and warranty performance and trends for monthly reports. Coordinate and manage various sustaining engineering changes and retail optimization projects released to the plant. Review and coordinate status of all Change Notices/ Product Revisions (CN/PR) with engineering. Manage change notice routing, effectivity, and implementation. Serve as single point plant contact for engineering related BOM issues. This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Create and setup part flow routings in Oracle ERP system. Must have or obtain knowledge of plant part flow for all departments
  • Primary plant contact for understanding and documenting engineering BOM or build issues on product
  • Work with Engineering and QA Manager to solve problems related to design
  • Primary plant contact for documenting and tracking engineering issues through the change notice system.
  • Attend meetings to prioritize and track change notice closure
  • Set effectivity for change notice implementation and manage disposition of any associated obsolete and slow-moving inventory (OSMI) as needed.
  • Communicate and coordinate engineering changes to appropriate plant stakeholders. Lead meetings with plant team members
  • Setup pilot runs when necessary. Coordinate scheduling order pull ahead timing with production for training needs.
  • Investigate field reports, warranty issues and supplier cost recovery. Setup suppler communication and supplier meetings as necessary.
  • Initiate Supplier Corrective Action (SCARs) on high incidence/$ issues.
  • Assist quality with training, scrap review meetings, and act as subject matter expert.
  • Summaries of scrap performance, scrap reporting, scrap reduction initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, product, and plant.

Qualifications:

  • Associate two-year degree or higher, or equivalent experience
  • Can read and understand technical drawings, blueprints and part diagrams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, database software such as Oracle, SAP, JDE
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal and technical
