The Position:

Responsible for helping to develop Panasonic In-Flight-Entertainment (IFE) Programs within the Systems Installation Engineering (SIE) group from an Electrical Engineering Design standpoint - from systems integration to installation.  Shall be responsible to plan, engineer, design and develop system installation packages based on customers’, regulatory, and OEM’s requirements for production and retrofit aircraft applications. 

Engineer, Design and Develop System Installation Packages

  • Engineer Programs from an Electrical Design, Wiring and System Integration design standpoint under the direction of a Senior Engineer.
  • Engineer and coordinate Electrical installation system designs for new aircraft production and retrofit applications.
  • Conduct in-depth troubleshooting for Electrical interfaces and integration with existing aircraft systems.
  • Utilize Capital, Catia Electrical Systems Design, AutoCAD, BricsCAD, VISIO, CREO Schematic or equivalent design tool to generate design responsibilities for System Block Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams and Cable Assemblies, etc.
  • Provide inputs to Drafters for Systems Design criteria to support aircraft installations.
  • Support Manufacturing/Inspection of the designs.
  • Perform work distribution to Drafters as required under Senior Engineer’s guidance.
  • Generate Electrical Load Analysis for IFE systems.
  • Balance Electrical Loads and Phase Rotations for proper system integration.
  • Research OEM Aircraft Manuals to properly integrate PAC systems within aircraft.


  • Design and develop in-flight entertainment Electrical installation engineering documentation to support airline customer’s requirements.
  • Documentation includes aircraft Wiring Diagrams, Cable Assemblies, Wire Removal Drawings, generate Electrical Load Analysis reports, Test Reports, Work Instructions etc.
  • Assist in the development of drawing/document standards per customer and regulatory agency requirements.

Support Systems Installation Group

  • Support Program Management, Certification, Marketing, and other departments to plan and coordinate program requirements.
  • Provide support for customer meetings, preliminary design review (PDR), critical design review (CDR), First Article Inspection (FAI), aircraft surveys, aircraft installations, etc.
  • Review products and provide feedback to Senior Engineers and Management.
  • Provide solutions and recommendations to Project Lead.
  • Coordinate design requirements and review applications for existing programs.
  • Work with external engineering groups to integrate third-party vendor equipment with our systems.
The salary range of $74,000 – $124,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.What

What We're Looking For:
  • BSEE or other relevant Electrical Engineering discipline.
  • 3-6 years of Electrical Design experience within the aircraft industry
  • Possess an understanding of airline regulatory guidelines.
  • Electrical design requirements & standards for systems integration and aircraft wiring.
  • Knowledge of OEM Aircraft Manuals.
  • Knowledge of avionic component parts utilized in the design and manufacture of cable assemblies.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of avionic wiring/seat design to develop unique system solutions.
  • Familiarity with Capital, Catia Electrical Systems Design, AutoCAD, BricsCAD, VISIO, CREO Schematic or other design software experience.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing test methods and procedures.
  • Solid understanding of aircraft and avionic terms.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to handle multiple programs.
  • Proficient in project planning and ability to plan for internal and/or external dependencies.
  • Use professional concepts; apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Knowledgeable of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Electronic Engineering field to design and troubleshoot systems.
  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Ability to present the Electrical Design to Customers and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally.
  • Take ownership of programs and have a growth mindset.
  • This position requires up to 10% global travel to support aircraft installations, coordination meetings and program reviews at manufacturers.

  • Paid time off: Exempt Salaried employees receive flexible paid time off. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
