This role is responsible for the software development of StoreConnect, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform to identify and predict failures in commercial refrigeration systems. Responsibilities to include the delivery of the product road map and oversight of the software development team. This role reports to an executive of Hussmann.


  • Evaluate existing SaaS platform and bolster or modify in a manner that can scale with retailers at an enterprise SaaS level environment
  • Set the platform strategy that maximizes the use and growth of the platform
  • Establish the product vision and roadmap, to include prioritization of platform to maximize return for customers and Hussmann
  • Collaborate, through the product review board management process, with customer success, data scientists, architects, and domain experts to design, develop, and operationalize our predictive analytics tools for the retail food industry
  • Develop team capabilities and manage deployment to provide customer-focused design and implementation support
  • Ensure network architecture related to the software development is aligned with the overall enterprise digital platform
  • Provide oversight for software engineering team to include:
    • Data scientists for algorithm development - oversight to include utilization of AI/ML and corresponding modeling associated with actual actions completed in the field
    • UI/UX development, to include mobile versions, that complies with our Hussmann enterprise standards and meets our customer’s demands
    • Firmware development and maintenance for various edge devices
    • Improve data acquisition methodologies to address unique data acquisition platforms
    • Establish and drive product release plans that satisfy requirements
  • Work with marketing to position product to retailers, contractors, and company owned branches

  • In conjunction with IT, ensure SOC-2 compliance throughout development


  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience required, masters preferred
  • 7+ years' experience in technical product management of Operation Technology platforms, with specific experience with Internet of Things (IoT).
  • 5+ years of experience with Platform as a Service, or Software as a Service product management
  • Environmentally conscience and inspired to improve our environmental impact
  • 5+ years of managing technical teams of 10 or more


  • Proven track record taking SaaS product strategy to road map definition to revenue generation in a B2B environment
  • Work with senior executives to promote the strategy and teams on the ground to communicate the product requirements
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of the organization (Sr. Executives to Field Service Technicians)
  • Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Track record of delivering the product requirements timely and within budget
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, project management and team collaboration tools
  • Excellent presentation skills to communicate the product strategy and use cases
  • Extensive data analytics experience preferred
  • Deep knowledge of cloud technologies and infrastructure, data modeling, algorithm development and AI/ML tools, preferred
