As a Design Service Group team member with Hussmann, you will be responsible for handling important customer account projects. Most of our work is focused on presentations that we create to visualize Hussmann concepts and solutions that we are proposing to assist our customers succeed. Both virtually and in-person, our presentations are delivered in a variety of formats including PDF, scaled drawings, 3D models and renderings.     

  • Creating presentations using 3D and design software by understanding the bigger picture of the customer’s needs or goals.
  • Partner with sales to interact with customers regarding store design needs and develop solutions to resolve client issues.
  • Collaborating with the sales team, designers, and engineers to maximize profit by anticipating customer needs and presenting Hussmann solutions.
  • Work within internal budgets of Hussmann and external budgets from our customers. This may include discussions around equipment selection, walk-in coolers/freezers, including how refrigeration impacts the store layout.
  • Manage communication between internal and external teams concerning project schedules to ensure all parties have realistic expectations of deliverables.
  • Continuing education of software innovations, merchandising concepts, industry trends and changes.
  • Work with designers, architects, sales team, project managers, creative, advertising, logistics, managers, marketing, and team members from other departments dedicated to the same client account to ensure the highest quality of materials are being produced and all client needs met.
  • Conceptualize new merchandisers and improvements to current Hussmann products advancing functionality, design, and customer revenue opportunity. Work with Hussmann Plus partners developing models and ideas on millwork, pastry, pizza, island, specialty counter, and other fabricated opportunities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Technical Associate degree in relevant industries required
  • 10 years of overall industry experience required
  • 3+ years’ experience using 3D software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Unreal Studio, Blender or 3DS Max.
  • 3+ years’ experience related to commercial interior design, or retail design. Emphasis on food merchandising preferred.
  • 1-year experience reading and thoroughly understanding construction plan sets including MEP (Mechanical Equipment Plans)
  • 1 year of experience interacting with clients to understand their needs.
  • Must have ability to manage multiple account projects simultaneously
  • Must have advanced capability to create consistent, polished presentations using Microsoft and Adobe software.
