This position responds to the customers’ needs for service of equipment through maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning systems commonly installed in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities with assistance/direction from a Master or Lead Service Technician.

Description 

  • Respond to customers’ needs for service of equipment through maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning systems commonly installed in supermarkets, convenient stores, and cold storage facilities (with assistance/direction from a Master or Lead Service Technician)
  • Perform prescribed, routing maintenance procedures on supermarket refrigeration system and self-contained temperature-controlled merchandisers with direction from a Master or Lead Service Technician
  • Complete preventative maintenance compressor change assists, leak searching and coil washing with direction from a Master or Lead Service Technician
  • Acquire knowledge through on-the-job training which includes new product development, service bulletins, and computer-based training
  • Complete necessary documents (work tickets and timesheets) and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate and timely manner
  • Utilize handheld computer to complete necessary customer paperwork and invoicing requirements
  • Maintain and manage truck inventory in an accurate, neat an orderly manner as well as adhere to vehicle maintenance program guidelines (if applicable)
  • Identify and use the standard tools of the trade, including refrigerant recovery equipment.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relations
  • Additional duties as assigned by the management team

Requirements 

  • High School Diploma/GED and Certification from a Technical School or High School Diploma/GED and 3 Years of experience in the field Valid driver’s license to maintain a safe driving record in accordance with the fleet policy
  • Must be physically able to walk distances, bend, crouch, climb ladders, work at high elevations and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds, all repetitively and for extended periods
  • EPA certification
  • Knowledge of refrigeration, electrical and microprocessor control systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; detail-orientated and highly motivated
  • Ability to operate independently
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Work nights and/or weekends as required
  • Strong leadership and business acumen
  • Superior decision-making ability and paperwork skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-orientated and highly motivated
