RESPONSIBILITIES (Capabilities): Meet all the requirements of a Qualified technician, plus... 1. Perform prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained temperature controlled merchandisers. Operating knowledge of self-contained refrigeration, heating and air conditioning units. 2. Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies and procedures including OSHA and any local authorities governing requirements. Demonstrate the Lock Out-Tag Out Procedure. 3. Diagnose refrigeration systems and perform necessary repairs, at a basic level. 4. Ability to repair leaks on racks or single-unit piping, braze with copper-to-brass and copper to steel, demonstrate the use of nitrogen while brazing. 5. Demonstrate the ability to check and set superheat on all types of TXV’s. 6. Demonstrate the ability to replace defrost heating elements. 7. Demonstrate how to design and install PVC drain pipe. 8. Demonstrate the proper use and calibration of temperature and pressure meters transducers and sensors. 9. Receive, uncrate and properly hang blower coils, fabricate hangers, struts and supports, for hanging copper tube drain lines. 10. Locate and repair refrigeration leaks, 11. Demonstrate the proper procedures for cleaning air-cooled condensing systems. 12. Demonstrate the ability to diagnose sub-cooling performance and repair/replace components (if required.) 13. Complete necessary documents (work tickets and time sheets) and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate and timely manner. 14. Demonstrate ability to utilize a hand-held computer to complete necessary customer paperwork and invoicing requirements. 15. Maintain and manage truck inventory in an accurate, neat and orderly manner as well as adhere to vehicle maintenance program guidelines (If applicable). 16. Demonstrate the ability to gain access to system settings and history logs in the system controller. 17. Demonstrate the ability to diagnose and replace a failing I/O Board. 18. Demonstrate the ability to read a store legend and apply it to the system. 19. Demonstrate the ability to gain access to system settings and history logs in the system controller. 20. REQUIREMENTS: • Knowledge of refrigeration, electrical and microprocessor control systems by maintaining the Certified Hussmann CERTI-TECH certification. • High School/Equivalent required (or 10 years trade experience), Other technical diploma or Bachelors Degree Preferred. • 0-5 years experience.
