What You'll Get to Do:
He/She is responsible to supervise employees within the organization in accordance with the organization’s policies and objectives, including coordinating development of the high quality and reliable product(s) within competitive cost and efficient manufacturability. Solve and prevent the issues which may occur during product development, engineering change or regulation change in advance. He/She typically reports to upper management and does not require support from others within the organization and/or personnel from other departments and sections to complete his/her primary objective. Remote position but candidate must be located in either NW suburbs Illinois, Mountain View, Ca. The Colony, Texas or Newark, NJ.
Manage the certification team via certification and environmental activities:
Set the department targets for cost, productivity & service quality with keep department budget and expenditures.
Keep visualizing and improving the certification & environmental activity to remove the compliance risk and work with related sections effectively.
Manage the departmental personnel and activities with balance workload among certification members.
Conduct performance review with individual and build training plan, manage and provide training for certification member.
Manage customer expectations and interface with customer, working to build positive, long lasting relationships with all customer as certification service.
Close communication with the Engineering, Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and SCM to proceed the certification and environmental activity within the schedule.
Have the regulation/standard update and change in advance, and arrange the training to the certification member & the related internal sections to keep compliance regularly
Regularly report certification projects progress to the Management team and the related sections.
Make the plan or countermeasure with Top management, team member and HQ certification team if there is the business potential risk or problem.
Check the world wide certification trend and join the conference related standards.
Make the certification activity strategy to obtain the qualification of pack and cell more effectively (Speed, Cost)
What You'll Bring:
Education & Experience:
BS in a related Engineering field (for example: Electrical Eng.)
Minimum of 5 years certification experience in the battery industry (with customer contact preferred)
An understanding of battery design (Li-ion cell, Lithium primary cell) in order to negotiate and best result with cert laboratory.
Require knowledge of both battery certification and environmental regulation and trend.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, with strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint ability
Proficient in English (both oral and written)
An ability of communicating in Japanese (both writing and reading) is preferred.
Must be capable of solving complex project and engineering challenges with minimal assistance, as well as working with other Project Management & Engineering staff to manage through challenges. Focus on and promptly manage through any sensitive or critical project issues.
Ability to manage a project relative to a potentially complex contract and schedule
Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to provide clear and detailed technical reports and presentations.
Must be able to work in a collaborative environment as well as work in self-directed independent projects.
Must be self-motivated with an ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Communicate effectively with other Panasonic engineering staff and Executive Management, key customers, executive and project management staff for our clients and partners (in USA, Mexico, China and Japan).
Communicate sales and diligence functions.
Coordination between multiple certification laboratories, the institution, subcontractors and the cert project level agreements
Travel up to 10% may be required visiting manufacturing locations(especially Mexico), and/or customer locations throughout the world.
