Job Summary:
The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Designer II assists in the design of equipment models to be used in federated BIM models, including process, HVAC, and electrical connections. The Designer prepares equipment and building designs. Most of the time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, the Designer develops new concepts for future manufacturing equipment lines. The individual coordinates design of equipment and addresses conflicts between machines, process connections, and facility infrastructure. Furthermore, the Designer inspects field work to confirm model matches as-built conditions.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare designs, layouts, drawings, and bills of material for major maintenance, facility improvements, and other projects
- Interpret regulatory codes for compliance (local, state, and federal)
- Assists in the design of equipment models to be used in federated BIM model, including process, HVAC, and electrical connections
- Develops new concepts for future manufacturing equipment lines
- Coordinate design of equipment and addresses clashes between machines, process connections, and facility infrastructure
- Perform site survey to assess equipment conditions, identify physical location for facility related equipment, etc.
- Meet both internal and external customer requirements utilizing the SQCDP principle
- Present project status updates in department meetings
- Develop conceptual designs for equipment and system expansion and/or upgrades
- Maintain current “as-built” drawings and files for all facility structures, and systems, equipment
- Develops and maintains BIM standards for the department

- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
- Basic/Required: High School Degree or GED or 1-2 years vocational training or Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Design
- Preferred: None
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in working with BIM models
- Effective communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with both internal and external entities
- Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
- Able to prioritize activities while supporting multiple projects
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with Autodesk BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks Manage; Certification preferred)
- Resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure

- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
