As the EHS Technician, you will monitor and implement our health and safety policy; ensure that we comply with our safety procedures; and to reduce or prevent hazards, dangers and accidents. You will support and assist in creating an environment where every employee is aware of the health, safety and sustainability impacts of their daily activities and where we always will work safely while balancing the interest of our customers, our environment, and ourselves. You will report to the Plant Manager.


  • Coordinate environmental management activities (waste disposal, environmental permits/reporting, and environmental record keeping).Recommend risk-reduction strategies and support plant energy savings projects
  • Manage the MSDS system
  • Help plan and conduct appropriate occupational safety and health training programs including Employer Right to Know (Hazard Communication), First Aid, CPR, Blood-borne Pathogens, Respirator Protection, Hearing Protection, Safety Shoes & Safety Glasses programs, trainings, Incident Analysis, Fork-lift training and Manual Material Handling and other relevant information with appropriate outside resources
  • Maintain ongoing health promotion awareness programs and wellness promotions i.e.: Wellness Fair and Hearing Testing
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene sampling/occupational exposure monitoring, i.e., Sound Level, Air Quality and CO monitoring
  • Assist contracted health services in determining causes of occupational illnesses and recommend corrective action
  • Support administration of workers' compensation for the facility
  • Coordinate claims with Worker's Compensation insurance provider and case management workers. Use expert clinical knowledge in the case management of workers' compensation and short-term disability
  • Track illnesses and injuries, file first reports of injury, work with employee to the workplace. Review claims and take the lead in their management
  • Maintain OSHA 300 log, medical records and employees' confidentiality
  • Serve on emergency response team and help coordinate emergency response team activities
  • Set goals for and manage safety and health-care services through implementation and evaluation of programs and procedures to ensure employee and plant safety and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses and injuries
  • Maintain control of safety and health processes, both independently and under the direction of other safety experts
  • Oversee in safety audits, on-site inspections of operational procedures, surveys and investigations conducted by representatives of company and regulatory agencies
  • "Chairs" plant Safety Committee
  • Help with continuous improvement efforts in products/processes to support plant goals of safety, cost, quality, and service


  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's preferred
  • Bi-lingual – English -Spanish a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial hygiene, safety or occupational health in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong OSHA knowledge
  • Shows great sensitivity to needs and concerns of others
  • Listen actively to perspectives, needs and concerns of management and employees
  • Have high standards and hold self and others accountable
